I’m a Celeb viewers don’t know who Tiffany is

She entered the jungle on Sunday night as the only international star on the new season of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

But despite being one of the most successful pop artists of the late 1980s, many viewers of the Channel Ten reality show were left wondering just who Tiffany is.

Baffled viewers took to Twitter to express their confusion, with one writing: ‘Who the f**k is Tiffany?’

Another confused her for Aussie pop relic Collette, tweeting: ‘I cant even remember Tiffany? Was she the Ring My Bell singer?’

The collective amnesia is surprising considering Tiffany’s lengthy and memorable career.

The 46-year-old shot to fame in 1987 when she launched a tour of America’s shopping malls, which turned her into an overnight sensation and instant child star.

At just 16-years-old, Tiffany became the youngest female artist to earn a No.1 album and the youngest to have two back-to-back No.1 singles.

Despite the mammoth success of her first album, the teenager’s popularity started to dwindle by the time her sophomore album was released in 1988.

By the time the ’90s rolled around, Tiffany was no longer cracking the charts, and the flame-haired songstress spent the majority of the decade out of the public eye.

She was thrust back into the spotlight in 2002 when she posed for the cover of Playboy in a bid to restart her music career.

While the nude pictorial did little to return her to the top of the charts, the star was able to spin the media attention into a strong of reality TV appearances like Celebrity Fit Club and Celebrity Wife Swap.

She then moved into acting with a number of roles, including a cameo in How I Met Your Mother and the SyFy Channel movies Mega Piranha and Mega Python vs. Gatoroid.

She released her last album, an acoustic pop record called A Million Miles, in 2016.
