I’m A Celebrity Final: Jacqueline Jossa is crowned the WINNER

Jacqueline Jossa has been crowned the winner of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here 2019.

The EastEnders star beat Coronation Street actor Andy Whyment to be crowned the new Queen Of The Jungle and was reunited with her husband Dan Osborne, after candidly telling hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly being on the show has ‘made her a different person.’

Jacqueline’s win comes following claims that she threatened to quit the show after being told by campmate Myles Stephenson that her husband Dan had been unfaithful.

Asked about her reaction to being crowned series champion, Jacqueline said she had ‘no words’ to describe the victory, and Extra Camp host Emily Atack was given the honour of crowning her the champion.

As Jacqueline walked across the bridge, she was stunned to be greeted by her husband Dan, who emotionally embraced her as the credits rolled.

Speaking to Ant and Dec before the winner was announced, Jacqueline admitted that being on the show did make her re-evaluate her life, and in particular how she handles criticism from others.

She said: ‘It was not what I expected but I didn’t think it was going to be such a turning point in life.

‘I went in as one person and I feel like I’ve come out as a different person I feel like I’ve grown in confidence and found out who I am as a person a little bit more.’

Jacqueline added: ‘I think it’s so easy to care so much what other people think about you people who don’t know you and I try to change their opinion and it doesn’t make sense but in here you have no choice you have to be you there’s no other option.

‘I had amazing people bigging me up, I learned so much from every single person, it’s just mad I can’t really work out what’s happening.

‘I’ve always been known as Lauren from EastEnders, or just a doormat and I’ve come in here and I have actually proved myself I was scared because I thought they don’t know me because I do have a resting b***h face, sometimes I worry after it comes across as harsh.’

He’s off! It comes as Capital FM DJ Roman Kemp finished in third place during Sunday’s grand final

Earlier in the show, Roman Kemp finished in third place, and the Capital FM DJ told Ant and Dec he described the experience as ‘nothing like it.’

Speaking about making it to the end of the series he told Ant and Dec: ‘I couldn’t believe it, I was that first person to walk into main camp and I started a little calendar but I started that and said to myself what if I could write 23 on there.

‘Everytime I landmarked, I wanted to get Jungle Arms, Letters from Home, then the Cyclone but I couldn’t be happier for those two.’

‘Without a doubt I’ve never had more fun I’ve never had so much emotion in my life and it’s a really strange place down there it’s a really unnatural thing that forms a family within three weeks. It really is and I’m not just saying that.’

Emotional: The Capital FM DJ made his exit from the camp to tell Ant and Dec that he had never had an experience like it, and as a fan of the show he always dreamed of making it to the end

Roman also revealed that after the camp spent days talking about their hunger and food, and said that eventually they banned all dinner chat, which sparked some of his more unusual questions aimed at his fellow celebrities.

He said: ‘In something like that you can end up talking about food constantly and there was  a point about ten days in we said we’re banning food conversations, so I thought the weirdest things I love asking those weird questions. When are we gonna find out what Ian [Wright] would do in a Zombie Apocalypse?’

I said just before we left this whole thing I’ve never once felt hungry, we divvied up food really well, we had the 4000 calorie man in James Haskell to feed, whenever we did those trials it was never about pressure to get those stars.’

It came after the remaining three celebrities faced their final Bushtucker Trial to win a sensational three course dinner for their last night in camp.

As the final three campmates bid farewell to Kate Garraway – who was voted off in Saturday’s show – Jacqueline couldn’t hide her disbelief that she was the last woman standing.

She said in the Bush Telegraph: ‘I’m the last girl standing. I can’t believe it. Oh my goodness this is ridiculous, Jungle Jac is in the final.’

Roman was equally stunned, adding: ‘My legs feel like jelly I can’t believe that I can say I’m in the final of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here I would never have thought I’d get this far.’

Stunned: Following Kate Garraway's departure, Roman Kemp, Andy Whyment and Jacqueline couldn't hide their shock that they were in the final three

An excited Andy said: ‘We pack tomorrow for the final time! I can’t believe it and I’m getting emotional I’m so chuffed, it’s just nice to know that people are voting for me, the person I am, it means a lot.’

Following the news that they were in the final, Jacqueline was the first to head down to the clearing for her last ever Bushtucker Trial, and the first one she endured on her own.

Ant and Dec explained her Trial was called Stake Out, which meant that she would have to lay down in a giant star on the floor with her arms and legs tied down and stay on the star for 10 minutes.

Nasty: Jacqueline has faced all manner of horrendous critters during her stint in the Australian jungle, and once again was left screaming with terror

In true I’m A Celebrity fashion Jacqueline was joined by more critters every two minutes, and if she could endure the whole Trial she would win starters for herself, Andy and Roman, and a drink and surprise treat for herself.

First Jacqueline was doused with jungle slime, fish guts and mealworms on her left arm, and the star told Ant that she was focused on enjoying a plate of spaghetti bolognese and garlic breaD for her last jungle dinner.

After earning the first star, Jacqueline was joined by crickets, scorpions and cockroaches on her right arm, and once again she completed the time earn the second star.

Trying to distract herself, Jacqueline told Ant and Dec she would be celebrating the upcoming festive season at her own home for the first time.

Next Jacqueline was joined by a flurry of green ants, which left her screaming: ‘Oh no, they’re going to go up my nunny,’ and then cockroaches which earned her the third and fourth star.

To earn her fifth and final star, Jacqueline had spiders placed on her head and for the final minute of the trail she even had to grip one of the insects in her mouth.

After learning that she had completed the Trial, Jacqueline lambasted Ant and Dec, but couldn’t hide her delight at winning three starters and two treats for herself.

Determined: The soap star quickly admitted: 'My gag reflexes aren't great but I've got to give it a go,'

Disgusting: He was then offered his first dish of either a witchetty grub (a different dish pictured) or a prawn cocktail

Up next was Andy, who was facing the legendary Bushtucker Bonanza to win main courses for himself and the other two finalists.

The soap star quickly admitted: ‘My gag reflexes aren’t great but I’ve got to give it a go,’ before being offered his first dish of either a witchetty grub or a prawn cocktail.

Of course Andy chose to eat the witchetty grub, and eventually managed to eat the bug after lots and lots of chewing.

With one star in the bag, he moved on to the next dish on offer which was a camel’s hoof or a roast chicken dinner. Opening the cloche Andy put his head in his hands and said: ‘Are you being serious? There’s a lot of fat on there, I can’t bite through it. It tastes a bit like pork.’

Strong: Despite the grim nature of the challenge, Andy still managed to chow down on each dish

That looks good! She even fought the temptation of enjoying some of his favourite meals and treats

Yummy? After a fair big of gagging he did manage to eat the dish

Hard: He told Ant and Dec: 'This is the trial that I really didn't want but I'm giving it a go, I've got two now three more to go'

The next dish was a whole scorpion or sticky toffee pudding with custard, and of course Andy elected to eat the for the scorpion whole.

Chomping on the dead reptile he said: ‘It’s crunchy tastes like salt and vinegar crisps but now it tastes like something has poo’ed in my mouth.’

Favourite: Andy struggled to fight the temptation of his favourite drink - a Bacardi and Diet Coke

I'll eat it! Instead he was given a pig's testicle to eat, which he did consume after some gagging

After earning all three main courses, Andy was tasked with playing for a drink, and his fourth dish was either a pig’s testicle or a Bacardi and diet coke.

He lamented: ‘Oh what is that, oh dear lord, this is going to take me a while boys,’ before putting the whole testicle in his mouth, and after yet more gagging he managed to complete the dish.

Andy moaned: ‘That was the most disgusting thing I’ve tasted in my life. I thought I was going to spew the whole lot back up.’

He done it! Andy did manage to eat his last ever Bushtucker dish, and triumphantly hugged Any and Dec at the joy of completing the last ever challenge

The last two dishes in Andy’s final Bushtucker trial were either crocodile anus or a plate of chocolate biscuits, and Andy branded the decision ‘cruel.’

He put the anus in his mouth saying it looked like a Chinese pancake, and slapped the table as he chewed the delicacy.

‘Is there a Chinese in Coronation Street?’ asked Ant. ‘No it’s the Prima Doner, Chesney gives me a discount cos I’m his mate. This is really grisly and tastes disgusting,’ before Andy hugged the pair at triumph at earning a full house in his last ever Bushtucker Trial.

The DJ faced the famous Panic Pit, which would see him lie on his back in an underground chamber, and for each two minutes he stayed in the chamber he would earn a star.

Of course Ant reminded Roman that as it was a Bushtucker Trial he wouldn’t be alone in the chamber.

After being strapped into the chamber, Roman was joined by 56 snakes as the time ticked away.

Keeping cool: He said: It's going under my shirt, don't go under there please,' but tried to remain calm as the reptiles slithered across his entire body

‘That was absolutely terrifying,’ he said afterwards, before Dec announced he’d won a full set of desserts for camp and a drink and special treat.

Amazing: Andy, Jacqueline and Roman all admitted that they were stunned to make it all the way to final, following Kate Garraway’s elimination in Saturday’s show

This series saw Ant return to host the show alongside Dec following his break from television duties in 2018, and his return has earned a positive response from fans.

His presenting duties were originally suspended by ITV in March 2018 after he was arrested following a road collision with a green Mini and a maroon BMW.

Ant later pleaded guilty to driving under the influence at Wimbledon Crown Court. He was banned from driving for 20-months and fined a British record £86,000 for drink-driving.

Speaking in August 2018, the presenter confirmed he was taking a temporary break from all presenting duties in order to focus on his recovery.

In a statement, he said: ‘My recovery is going very well and for that to continue having spoken to Dec and ITV, I have made the decision to take the rest of the year off.

‘I’d like to thank both Dec and ITV for their continued support and I look forward to getting back to work in the new year.’
