I’m A Celebrity: Joe Swash is mocked by viewers

There are already two inches between them, but fans claimed Joe Swash made himself look notably taller than Declan Donnelly as they appeared on Tuesday night’s edition of I’m A Celebrity: Extra Camp.

Swash, 36, propped himself up with the aid of a yellow cushion while chatting with the diminutive Donnelly and his co-host Holly Willoughby on the show, an ITV2 spin-off to long-running reality show I’m A Celebrity… Get me Out Of Here!

The decision gave Swash, who ordinarily stands at five feet, seven inches tall, an added height advantage over the Geordie star, whose own height is comparatively short five-feet five inches.

While a second added: ‘Love how joe always sits on a cushion to make him look taller.’

Swash was back on the show after being rushed to a local hospital, where doctors worked to remove a large cockroach that had burrowed itself into his right ear.

Referencing the incident, a third fan quipped: ‘Why is Joe always sitting on an extra cushion, did they remove the cockroach the long way?’

The presenter previously took to Instagra to document his ear getting syringed by a specialist after the cockroach found itself lodged there during a jungle trial.

He told his 435k followers: ‘You can actually smell cockroach. I’m at hospital, hopefully today is the day I can get rid of the little squatter who has been in my ear for two days.’

As the procedure began with a camera being placed inside his ear, Joe caught a glimpse of the cockroach and squealed: ‘Oh my god, s**t, it’s huge’.

After a tense few minutes, the doctor managed to retrieve the dead cockroach, placing it in a capsule which the ex-EastEnders star showed off.

Entomologists have previously explained that the orifice provides the perfect living conditions for the bugs – who are also attracted to the scent of earwax.
