I’m A Celebrity: Stanley Johnson has Ant & Dec in stitches

He has only appeared in one team challenge on I’m A Celebrity so far, after being ruled out of the others on medical grounds.

And it seems Stanley Johnson’s first attempt at a Bush Tucker trial is well worth the wait, as it leaves Ant and Dec in stitches.

The task sees the politician, 77, throw a ball into a nearby goal, while strapped to a wheel covered in critters – however he misses every single shot, to the hilarity of the presenting duo.

Hilarious: It seems Stanley Johnson’s first attempt at a Bush Tucker trial is well worth the wait, as it leaves Ant and Dec in stitches on Wednesday

On Wednesday’s episode Stanley participates in the Fear Factory trial with Kezia Dugdale – who replaced the public-voted Rebekah Vardy after she was removed on medical grounds.

In a teaser clip for the challenge, the former Conservative MP is strapped to a large wheel covered covered with critters, and has to locate balls among the creepy crawlies to throw into a nearby goal.

However, it seems throwing is not Stanley’s strong point, as he proceeds to miss every single shot in the short time limit – to the delight of Ant and Dec.

After failing in his first few attempts, Ant quips: ‘It’s like watching England play penalties,’ at which Dec adds: ‘No, its worse!’

Although he has less than half the time left, the politician refuses to rush his remaining attempts – with Dec joking: ‘There’s no sense of urgency is there!’

Despite the presenters’ constant encouragement, Stanley still lands every shot far away from his target, causing the Geordie presenters to erupt into hysterical laughter as the clock runs out.

Aware of his mishap however, Stanley simply says in his usual witty style: ‘This must be a world record of misses… it’s not as easy as you might think!’

To which Ant responds playfully: ‘It’s easier than you’re making it look though!’

The full trial and the amount of stars won by Stanley and Kezia will be revealed on Wednesday night’s show.

However, the father of Boris Johnson did show promise when he competed in the live team trial on Monday, and wolfed down three witchetty grubs with ease.

Licking his lips, he declared: ‘These are b****y nice. Delicious!’, causing viewers to hail him a ‘legend’ on Twitter.
