I’m A Celebrity trial tonight: Boy George takes on Angel Of Agony

I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! stars Boy George, Babatunde Aleshe and Chris Moyles will face a rare three-handed trial during Tuesday’s show,

After viewers decided Matt Hancock had suffered enough following five trials in a row, the trio were voted to face the next challenge, Angel Of Agony.

And, in a first look clip, it appears the team don’t get off to a good start, as Babatúndé proceeds to drop the first star after it is passed through by George, who launched into a meditative chant while being covered with cockroaches.

The challenge sees George, Babatunde and Chris placed in a replica of the famous Angel Of The North statue, tasked with unscrewing stars and passing them through each compartment.

In the clip, George attempts to keep calm while placing his hand in a box of scorpions, chanting to himself as he unscrewed the star, and telling Ant and Dec: ‘Scorpions are my friends!’

As he passes the first star to Babatunde, the comedian proceeds to drop it, leaving host Ant McPartlin to note that it’s ‘not a good start.’

Ant reminds him: ‘Be very careful George because there’s snakes in there.’

It remains to be seen whether George, Babatunde and Chris will earn 11 stars for the camp, after viewers opted against voting for Matt to face another challenge.

Following the announcement made by Ant and Dec, the MP threw his hands in the air with glee – while viewers rejoiced that his screen time will be ‘limited’ as they flocked to Twitter.

One user wrote: ‘Matts clearly not phased by the Trials, unfortunately. It’d be much more satisfying if he was a whimpering mess. So, LETS STOP VOTING FOR HIM!! We need a whimp, so the camp starve and it causes tension!! #ImACeleb.’

Others added: ‘Great to see other camp mates going to do trial. Fed up of Matt doing them all,’ and, ‘finally a trial that doesn’t have matt hancock in it.’

A fourth penned: ‘As soon as Matt said he’s enjoying the trials, the public decided he’s not doing the next one.

Another concluded: ‘No trial for Matt thank f**k, limit his screen time now and vote get him the f**k out that jungle the horrible [rat emojis] #ImACeleb.’

Earlier in the installment, campmates vented their frustration at Matt doing six trials back-to-back.

Earlier in the installment, George, Sue Cleaver and Mike Tindall complained they weren’t getting a look in, with sportsman Mike claiming it made their time in camp ‘harder’.

Speaking to Loose Women anchor and ITV newsreader Charlene White, Sue said of Matt: ‘He must be quite funny when he’s doing the trials.’

Of the public, Sue asked Charlene: ‘Do you think they’ll get bored of it or do you think they’ll just carry on?’

Referring to Matt’s time in office as the former Health Secretary during the pandemic, Sue said: ‘There’s a lot of anger, isn’t there,’ to which Charlene replied: ‘Yeah, they’ll just carry on. It’s an outlet.’

Speaking to Mike, George said: ‘I suppose there’s a lot of people who are angry with Matt.’

Speaking of being forced to spend all their time in the camp rather than leaving to take part in the Bushtucker Trials, Mike said: ‘It does make our experience harder because we’re always here. We don’t need to do anything.’

The MP for West Suffolk – who served as the UK’s health secretary during the COVID-19 pandemic – is controversially appearing as a contestant on the ITV jungle survival show and was chosen by the public once again to face unpleasantries to earn meals for camp in Deserted Down Under.

He was seen covered in snakes as he lay in an underground pit as he attempted to collect stars which he could exchange for meals for his co-stars.

Matt managed to collect seven out of a possible 11 stars before returning to camp.

I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight at 9:15pm on ITV1.
