I’m A Celeb’s Matt Hancock is stung by a SCORPION and treated by the show’s medics

EXCLUSIVE: I’m A Celeb’s Matt Hancock is stung by a SCORPION and treated by medics – after being voted for his FOURTH trial of the series

Matt Hancock was stung by a scorpion in the I’m A Celeb camp on Sunday morning, MailOnline can reveal.

The show’s medics treated the former Health Secretary, 44, after a scorpion penetrated his finger – but luckily for Matt, it wasn’t a deadly sting.

A TV source revealed that the Tory MP compared the injury to a bee sting, but said the pain was twice as bad.

They added: ‘Matt was shocked – it’s not every day that a scorpion stings you.

‘He’s already had such an eventful first week in camp after completing trial after trial – and now he’s been treated by the show’s medics too.

‘The scorpion was safely removed from camp and thankfully, it wasn’t poisonous.’

Comedian Babatunde Aléshé made reference to the scorpion sting after Ant and Dec revealed Matt had been voted for his fourth Bush Tucker trial.

He said: ‘Do you know what Matt? You are the man, you are the man, four trials and you got stung by a scorpion, and you have to go do a trial.’

Matt did his first Bushtucker trial, Beastly Burrows, with fellow late entrant Seann Walsh, 36, and has since been voted by the public to do every other challenge.

During Saturday night’s show he was doused in fish guts before being pelted in feathers while attempting to answer quiz questions in the show’s Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? themed trial.

Matt and Hollyoaks actor Owen Warner, 23, were disappointed after only earning 5/11 stars for camp while their co-stars watched during the trial, which was nicknamed Who Wants To Look Silly On Air?

He was forced to eat a sheep’s vagina and a pig’s anus on Friday in the show’s eating trial and Thursday faced underwater test Tentacles Of Terror.

Though it could be Sunday night’s trial that terrifies Matt the most, after he admitted to having a fear of snakes, that are expected to be hidden in the House Of Horrors, ahead of his jungle stint.

He said: ‘I have never come across a snake at close quarters and so I am pretty worried about anything to do with snakes.

‘I am not claustrophobic or at least I haven’t been found to be but that’s the thing about I’m A Celebrity – it is the unknown.’

Matt told his campmates this week that he was putting himself through the gruelling trials in the hope for ‘a bit of forgiveness.’

After being grilled by his co-stars he admitted to making a ‘pretty big mistake’ when he was caught breaching Covid social distancing rules and kissing his former aide Gina Coladangelo last year.
