I’m A Celeb’s Matt Hancock leaves Ant and Dec in stitches with suggestive quip

Matt Hancock took on yet another gruesome trial during Sunday’s episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here – which marked his fifth in a row.

And the former Health Secretary, 44, left presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly in stitches with a cheeky remark during the challenge.

The MP was forced to dip his hand in a box of gloopy molasses at the beginning of the trial, quipping: ‘Why did I do that with my right hand?’ as he did so.

‘Why did I do that with my right hand?’: I’m A Celeb’s Matt Hancock, 44, left Ant and Dec in stitches with suggestive quip as he dipped his hand in molasses during his FIFTH consecutive trial

The challenge, dubbed House Of Horrors, saw Matt face a lifesized dolls house with a different fear in each room – including snakes, pigeons, swarms of flies and a series of animal guts.

As he took on the first room, Matt opened a drawer filled with molasses, a viscous substance resulting from refining sugarcane or sugar beets into sugaran, dipping his hand in to look for a potential star.

After struggling to find one, the politician took his hand out and remarked: ‘Why did I do that with my right hand?’

Watching from beside the challenge, Ant and Dec caught on to the suggestive quip as they broke into fits of laughter.

Later in the trial, Matt shrieked as the snake slithered around a bed as he tried to grab one of the stars which was hiding underneath the reptile.

He returned to camp with nine stars after facing his fears during the Bushtucker trial, but admitted he was slightly disappointed not to bag the full 11.

As he headed off to take on the latest trial earlier on, Scarlette told him: ‘If you can do the House of Commons you can do the House of Horrors.’

Arriving at the Trial clearing, Matt told Ant and Dec: ‘I’ve had quite a full on morning as I got stung by a scorpion. It was unbelievably painful.’

Dec asked: ‘So it was a scorpion in camp?’

Matt replied: ‘Yeah. It was really painful – it still hurts! But they say the smaller scorpions they just hurt, they don’t kill you.’

Dec said to Matt: ‘5th Trial in a row – why do you think you keep getting voted for?’

Matt replied ‘It must be the facial expressions.’

In the first room was pigeons. Dec shuddered: ‘Pigeons. I don’t like it Ant, I don’t like it. It’s the ‘flappiness’ that gets me. I don’t like the beaks either.’

As he continued, he repeatedly found spiders on the stars and had to rummage through offal.

In the final room he found snakes. He said: ‘Snakes, you know that I don’t like snakes. Oh my goodness, that’s alive!’

At the end it was confirmed Matt had located 9 out of the 11 stars on offer.

‘I’m happy with 9, it’s not quite ‘nailed it 11′. It’s enough food for Owen and everyone else.’

When he told everyone the result, Matt said: ‘Everybody lit up and cheered, it was brilliant.’

Later on in the episode, Matt was crowned camp leader after winning a leadership contest again his fellow camp mates.

It comes after viewers complained that the ITV programme was turning into ‘the Matt Hancock show’, after he was picked to complete his fifth Bushtucker trial.

Matt faced Mike Tindall in the leadership struggle, who moaned that he would be ‘in so much s**t’ for losing to the MP.

And Mike will be facing jibes once he arrives home, as Matt and his deputy Charlene White managed to bag the win despite Matt’s claims they were the ‘underdogs’.

One person who made it clear they won’t be following any orders was Boy George, who insisted: ‘Ultimately, neither of them will have any power over me. If I don’t want to do something I won’t do it.’

As the two contestants went head to head in the challenge area, Matt and Charlene and Mike and his deputy Sue arrived to find a wall of lights.

The instructions read: ‘In front of each team is a wall of lights. You will only see which lights are switched on when you press the red button. The first team to turn on all their lights will become the leader and deputy of camp.

‘Mike and Matt, you will be responsible for turning the lights on. However, you will be blindfolded and will have to rely on your chosen deputy to give you instructions from the deputies’ chairs.’

Mike joked: ‘If I went home and I’d lost to Matt Hancock, I’d be in so much s***.’

Matt humbly replied: ‘Yeah…’

Charlene laughed: ‘Well then that’s why you lost.’

The politician came out on top of the public vote for the next challenge, which aired the following day.

After the news was delivered by hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, Matt’s campmate Babatunde Aleshe declared: ‘You are the man, you are the man! You’ve done four trials, you got stung by a scorpion and now you’ve got to do this trial!’, but the television audience was not as impressed.

Taking to Twitter to express their annoyance, one person wrote: ‘Why are people continuing to vote for Matt Hancock to do trials? He’s loving the attention. He should be in Britain doing the job he was elected to do. I’m A Celeb has now become the Matt Hancock show! Yuk!

‘ImACeleb it is about time people left Matt Hancock alone he has done four trials and still he is being picked on give it a rest,’ wrote someone else.

Showing some sympathy, another I’m A Celebrity fan wrote: ‘Starting to feel sorry now for @MattHancock yeah he has made some huge mistakes, but give the trials to someone else now. Let them have the pressure! #ImACeleb.’

Someone else shared: ‘Funny how we moan about it but I bet half of you ain’t voting for someone different, I agree it’s boring watching him do every trial because ultimately he smashes them! It’s not the fault of I’m A Celeb, it’s us, if everyone moaning voted someone different we might see someone new.’

Wayne has spent an estimated £30,000 on hair transplants over a nine-year period.

The former England ace, 37, has gone to extraordinary lengths to tackle his receding hairline over the years, with two emergency trips to the Harley Street Hair Clinic in London helping to control his male pattern baldness.

Taking to Twitter in 2011, shortly after his first procedure, Wayne admitted he was forced to take action after realising he was losing his hair at an early age.

Sharing a snap of his reinvigorated hairline, he tweeted: ‘Just to confirm to all my followers I have had a hair transplant. I was going bald at 25 why not. I’m delighted with the result.’

He later joked: ‘It’s still a bit bruised and swollen when it dies down u will be first to see it. Anyone recommend any good hair gel. Haha.

‘I had it done in Harley street hair clinic London. Thanks to all the staff who looked after me.’

His supportive wife Coleen later tweeted: ‘Hiya!! Yes waynes had his hair done! His own decision not me asking him, like alot are saying!! Pleased for him and it will look great x’.

The startling improvement was fully evident the following year as Wayne featured for England at the European Championships in Poland and Ukraine.

The footballer displayed a notably thicker head of hair as Roy Hodgson’s men reached the quarter-finals, a complete contrast to his drastically receding hairline at the FIFA World Cup held in South Africa two-years previously.

In 2013 Wayne returned to the Harley Street Hair Clinic for a second procedure, with specialists once again using a follicular transfer, whereby hairs are transplanted in groups of 1-4 and grow naturally in the scalp.

In one heartbreaking moment on the show, Jill spoke of the prejudice she faced while trying to break into competitive football as a young schoolgirl.

During a conversation with Loose Women anchor and ITV newsreader Charlene White and A Place In The Sun presenter Scarlette Douglas, Jill, 35, spoke about the moments in her life that she was most proud of.

The sportswoman said: [I was] playing in the schoolyard with the boys. I literally didn’t realise until a couple of weeks in that I was literally the only girl doing it. But I had loads of energy as a kid.

While her peers were accepting of her playing football, Jill added: ‘It was the parents, some of the parents from opposing teams.

‘Now, knowing that her [Charlene’s] young daughter won’t have to face that stuff, she’s on the start of that journey and it can be an amazing one for her.’

Jill added to Charlene and Scarlette of her participation with the England squad which won the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022: ‘The way the fans got behind us… I felt like everybody was supporting us in a positive way.

‘Whereas sometimes for the guys, I do think when a tournament comes around they’re like, “Oh, how they going to do?” and put a bit of a negative spin on it.

‘The guys were so supportive as well. They came and shared their stories about their Euros experience and was like…’

Charlene noted: ‘It’s not a full experience is it though because they’ve never actually, like, won… so… next time the boys have the Euros, presumably the girls will go into their changing room and explain to them how they managed to win it and how they ought to do the same. You now need to be advising them.’

Jill admitted: ‘That win’s going to be iconic for a long time but the biggest thing for me – the medal, I look at it and I have the biggest, cheesiest grin ever – but knowing girls can say, “You know what, I want to be a footballer” and it’s normal, it’s fine.’
