‘I’m sh***ing myself’: Adele is forced to restart hit single Easy On Me

Adele was forced to restart hit single Easy On Me after her nerves got the better of her during her star-studded Audience With on Sunday evening.

The successful songstress, 33, delighted fans with an ITV special recorded in front of celebrity friends on November 6 at the London Palladium.

However, she admitted she was ‘sh***ing’ herself when it came to performing her latest number one single and chose to restart her song after an uncharacteristic stumble.

During the opening lines of her No.1 track, Adele said: ‘One more time, I’m s***ing myself – I’m scared!’

Viewers watched as the backing band abruptly halted and she stopped to sip on a cup of chamomile tea before restarting the track, much to the delight of her audience.

Adele joked that she had asked for hot honey but was given chamomile, as she admitted she ‘wasn’t a diva’ so didn’t ask the crew member to change the beverage.

Celebrity onlookers including Boy George and Emma Thompson cheered from the crowd as they watched Adele resume the song in pitch perfect fashion.

Adele was surprised by her former teacher Miss McDonald moments after she told actress Cruella actress Emma that the teacher was one of the most influential people from her life.

Emma asked her: ‘My question is, when you were younger, was there someone who, kind of supported you and inspired you, or, you know protected you from all the trials and tribulations of life and inspired you to go on?’

‘Yeah I had a teacher at Chestnut Grove who taught me English,’ Adele replied. ‘That was Miss McDonald. She left when I was in year eight. It was just one year, but she got me really into literature. I’ve always been obsessed with English and obviously now I write lyrics.’

She continued: ‘She was so bloody cool. So engaging, she really made us care and we knew she cared about us.’

Adele added that Miss McDonald was so ‘relatable and likeable’.

Emma looked at Adele and said: ‘Yeah because it’s odd actually, funny enough…’

Speaking to Emma, the songstress asked: ‘Is she here?’ as the Cruella star replied: ‘She’s here tonight.’

Adele began sobbing as she saw Miss McDonald walking towards her and they hugged for a moment before the former teacher told her: ‘Thank you for remembering me.’

Adele responded: ‘Oh my God, you really changed my life.’

The singer wasn’t the only one feeling touched by the reunion, as many Twitter users took to the social media platform to react following the moment.

TV presenter Charlene White, wrote: ‘Adele crying when she saw her teacher FLOORED ME. All it takes is just one teacher, just one… And the entire couse of your life can change.’

Following the emotional moment, Adele dashed over to her make-up artist, who was on hand to fix her face after she shed a few tears over the special reunion.

Another joked that she was feeling a rush of emotions, as soon after the tearful on stage reunion, Alan Carr took to the stage to perform Make You Feel My Love as Adele retouched her make-up.

Actress Emma Thompson asked the superstar who had inspired her when she was young.

Adele opened up about the impact the year eight teacher had on her, after which Emma revealed that she was actually in the audience. 

An audience member previously told The Sun: ‘It was a really emotional moment. Adele spoke movingly about how her teacher was her inspiration as a teenager.

‘When she realised she was actually in the audience, she brought her up on stage immediately, and broke down in tears. It was the big surprise of the night.’.
