‘I’m single!’ declares Selena Gomez after rumors linking her to Andrew Taggart and Zayn Malik

Selena Gomez playfully bellowed: ‘I’m single!’ in a TikTok posted Thursday, putting paid to the conjecture that has been pursuing her lately.

Her love life has been a source of constant speculation this year, with rumors attaching her to such names as Zayn Malik and Andrew Taggart. 

The 30-year-old attempted to lay the chatter to rest this week with a video of her and some friends lounging about at the edge of a public soccer pitch.

‘I’m single!’ Selena shouted at the men playing some distance way. ‘I’m just a little high maintenance but I love you all so much!’ 

Although she managed to elicit a few giggles from her pals, Selena failed to get the attention of any of the men. ‘The struggle man lol,’ she captioned.

Near the start of this year she was linked to The Chainsmokers’ sizzling Andrew Taggart, and though she announced she was ‘single’ in January she was glimpsed two days later holding hands with him in New York.

‘Selena and Drew have an amazing connection,’ an Us Weekly source claimed. ‘They’re so happy to have gone with their guts and jumped in to give this a try.’

The pair were said to be ‘very into each other,’ according to the insider, who gushed that Selena ‘loves’ what a ‘nice guy’ Andrew is.

However by early May, Andrew was spotted leaving a VIP party in Miami hand in hand with a leggy mystery woman who towered over him.

In the intervening time, Selena found herself dogged by claims that she had taken up with One Direction alum Zayn Malik. 

When the conjecture about Selena and Zayn began to swirl in March, a source told Page Six that the pair previously had a brief dalliance a decade ago.

The insider claimed that Zayn and Selena briefly had a ‘thing’ while her close friend Taylor Swift was dating his One Direction bandmate Harry Styles.

Taylor and Harry embarked on a whirlwind romance from late 2012 until January 2013, after which she wrote multiple songs that were thought to be about him.

Also in March an old red carpet video from 2010 resurfaced in which Selena was asked which One Direction member she would kiss and she giggled: ‘Zayn.’ 

Selena’s most infamous relationship was her on-off romance with her teenage sweetheart Justin Bieber, which last ended in 2018 just a few months before he married Alec Baldwin’s influencer niece Hailey. 

Last month Hailey skipped the Met Gala for the first time in eight years, amid a persistent online belief that she was feuding with Selena.

When Justin and Hailey attended the Americana-themed Met Gala together in September 2021, onlookers chanted: ‘Selena!’ at them. 

This past October, Selena and Hailey cuddled up to one another for the cameras at the Academy Museum gala, suggesting they had buried the hatchet.

By this February however Hailey found herself denying claims that she had taken a swipe at Selena on TikTok, and speculation exploded that the pair were on the outs.

Then this April Selena wrote on social media: ‘Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity. This isn’t what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I’ve always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop.’ 

Hailey responded in kind, writing on her Insta Stories: ‘I want to thank Selena for speaking out, as her and I have been discussing the last few weeks how to move past this ongoing narrative between her and I.’
