Imogen Anthony claims she was ‘led astray for months’ after breakup with ex Kyle Sandilands

Kyle Sandilands separated from his longtime girlfriend Imogen Anthony in mid-2019 after eight years together.

And it seems the split was painful and prolonged, as Imogen has now accused her ex-boyfriend of sending her mixed messages following their break-up.

In a cryptic Instagram post on Monday, she claimed she had been ‘led astray for months’ while being asked to stay silent about the circumstances of their rift.

‘While I have stayed silent and been asked to do so, others have been able to say and do what they want, and that hurts… Everything I have said has been the truth or what I was told directly,’ she wrote.

She also alleged Kyle had sent her romantic gifts after their break-up, which added to her sense of ‘confusion’.

Imogen also shared what appeared to be private text messages between herself and Kyle, before swiftly deleting them.

She claimed Kyle’s messages had given her false hope they might rekindle their relationship, only for her to realise a reconciliation wasn’t on the cards.

The model’s post came just hours after Kyle appeared in a 60 Minutes special with his new girlfriend, Tegan Kynaston, on Sunday night.

During the broadcast, host Karl Stefanovic asked if Kyle and Tegan were considering marriage – a question that must have stung Imogen.

Despite being heartbroken, Imogen told her followers not to feel sorry for her.

‘I need everyone to understand, that I chose where I’m at now, on my own… I have moved on, happily, in my own ways,’ she wrote.

‘You can’t help those who won’t help themselves, only wish them the best and good health… Everything else will remain as is… Good luck mate.’

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Kyle and Imogen’s manager, Bruno Bouchet, for comment.

It comes as Kyle faces a backlash over his 60 Minutes interview also featuring his radio co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson.

Channel Nine has been slammed for suggesting in promos last week that Kyle would reveal he had been secretly battling a serious health condition – only for the shock jock to say he was joking when the segment went to air.

In a preview for the show, Jackie had tears in her eyes as her colleague told her he had been keeping his ‘diagnosis’ a secret for some time.

But Kyle confirmed his big reveal was a wind-up on Sunday night – prompting a furious response from viewers who accused Nine of ‘false advertising’.

The stunt drew the ire of former Senator and outspoken commentator Derryn Hinch, who said joking about serious illnesses was no laughing matter.

‘Anybody who has ever been diagnosed with terminal cancer, and had to tell loved ones, would not appreciate Kyle Sandilands’ “joke” tonight,’ he wrote on Twitter.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford said 60 Minutes had gone ‘off brand’ by promoting Kyle’s prank as an emotionally charged tell-all interview.

‘One thing for Kyle and Jackie O to pull a prank about a life threatening illness. That’s on brand. Different thing for 60 Minutes to use it in a promo knowing they wouldn’t be delivering. That’s off brand,’ he wrote.

However, Kyle did reveal elsewhere in the program that his blood pressure was so high he could die ‘at any stage, at any time, day or night’.
