A 42-year-old father who married his biological daughter and had a baby with her has been granted bond.
Steven Pladl was released from custody in Henrico, Virginia, on Tuesday, on a bond of $28,000. His 20-year-old daughter Katie remains behind bars and is awaiting a court date.
The pair were arrested in North Carolina in January after Katie’s mother, Steven’s ex-wife, discovered their incestuous marriage and reported it to police.
There, Pladl met the terms of the $1million set by North Carolina officials.
He was then taken back into custody by police in Virginia, where he must now remain.
Katie was given up for adoption when she was a baby and got back in touch with her birth parents in June 2016.

Not long afterwards, Steven and her biological mother Alyssa separated and Katie and Steven started their affair.
In July 2017, the pair ‘got married’ and shared photographs of their lakeside union on social media.
Katie gave birth not long afterwards to a baby boy. Since then, they have both doted over the newborn on Instagram.
On Tuesday, Pladl was released from Henrico County Jail.
He was told to stay away from Katie who has not yet been granted bond.

She has not yet requested a bond hearing and is next scheduled to appear in court in April.
Earlier this month, Alyssa told DailyMailTV how she discovered their relationship in her 11-year-old’s journal.
After she and Steven separated, the 11-year-old switched between staying at her home and the home her ex-husband was in with Katie.
In the entries, the 11-year-old depicted Katie as being pregnant and described Steven as ‘Satan’.
They wrote that because Katie was ‘human’ and Steven was ‘Satan’, their baby would be ‘half-demon.’

When Katie got back in touch with her birth family, Alyssa says her suspicions were raised when Steven insisted on sleeping of the floor of her bedroom. When he and Alyssa split up, Katie chose to live with him full time
Katie’s 11-year-old sister detailed the inestious affair in her journal which Alyssa was later shown and reported to police
In March 2017, Steven presented Alyssa with the journal and said the 11-year-old was ‘acting out’.
Alyssa, who was horrified, said she thought it was his way of informing her of the incestious affair.
She contacted police immediately but the pair carried on living together and in July, got married in front of Katie’s adoptive parents and Steven’s mother.
The baby was born not long afterwards.
Steven and Katie were both arrested in January at the home they shared with his mother.
They have been charged with felony incest and misdemeanor abuse of a child.
