Amy Buncuga filmed the explosion during a storm in Auckland, New Zealand at 8.23 on Tuesday morning after being woken by rumbling thunder.
Ms Buncuga posted the video to Facebook, saying the incredible strike made her ‘s**t herself’.

‘I was so surprised I got that, It was so close… I thought I’d try get some cool lightning videos and I got that. I screamed so loud,’ she told the New Zealand Herald.
‘I’m pretty scared of thunder and lightning… but that’s probably the scariest thing I’ve seen that involves lightning.’
The strike hit her elderly neighbours’ tree in Blockhouse Bay and came during torrential rain which pelted the country’s biggest city for hours on Tuesday morning.
A woman in another part of the city was taken to hospital after a lightning strike in Mangere.
The storm has impacted flights at the airport and shaken houses as wild winds belt the upper North Island.
More than 800 lightning strikes have been recorded in Auckland, with some causing power blackouts in rural areas fringing the city.
