They show the bolts of lightning hitting the antenna of the 1,776 ft tall tower during an electrical storm in New York City on Tuesday night.

Snapped from across the Hudson River in Hoboken, New Jersey, the illuminated tower is seen amid the dimmer skyscrapers of Lower Manhattan.

One World Trade Center – initially dubbed the Freedom Tower before its name was changed in 2009 – sits on the site of the Twin Towers destroyed in the 9/11 attacks.
