Indian fortune teller, 31, is charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl inside his business – after being arrested as he tried to catch a flight out of Australia

An Indian fortune teller has been charged over the alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl.

The man, 31, was spoken to on Sunday afternoon after reports a girl had been abused inside a business in Liverpool in Sydney’s west. 

Police allege the man invited the girl into the business by offering to tell her fortune for free, before sexually assaulting her.

He was arrested at Sydney International Airport at about 6pm on Monday after the Australian Federal Police found him trying to board a plane to Singapore.

The fortune teller was taken to Mascot Police Station where he was charged with two counts of sexually touching a child under the age of 16 and three counts of aggravated sexual assault involving a child under the age of 16.

He will appear in Central Local Court on Tuesday.
