Former supermodel Elle Macpherson has been spending some of the reported $53 million cash she received in her recent divorce from Fontainebleau Miami Beach resort owner Jeffrey Soffer on a love nest she can share with her new beau, disgraced British doctor Andrew Wakefield.
Miami-Dade County records obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com show Macpherson, 54, paid $8.1 million earlier this year for a classy waterfront mansion in Coral Gables, one of Miami’s richest neighbors.
The purchase was finalized in February, about the time her romance with 61-year-old Wakefield heated up, through the shell company Teach Nua 9550 LLC. Teach Nua is often used to mean “new house” in Ireland.
The company, officially managed by local real estate lawyer Thomas Ringel, obtained a $6.1 million mortgage from the Florida Community Bank. The loan runs for 30 years and is a risky adjustable rate mortgage that could go up to 8.5 percent, records show.

But while the company was created to ensure that the homeowner’s identity be shielded from the public, Macpherson is mentioned by name in the ownership papers as a new member of the Journey’s End Homeowners Association.
As in the many private, more expensive neighborhoods in Florida, new homeowners must be approved by the existing ones after a rigorous application process that includes an interview with a board.
Macpherson didn’t skate because of her star status, but she did get approved.
“I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you as a new member of the Journey’s End Homeowners Association,” wrote association President Louis Wolfson III, a developer and heir of a high-profile local family. “The application of Elle Macpherson has been approved … On behalf of the entire Association, we look forward to having you join our Association.”
The mansion is a contemporary marvel in a lush, gated community where a guard prevents non-resident from driving in.

It offers seven bedrooms and six and half bathrooms over 8,300 square feet of pure luxury, sleek and open living spaces that includes a family room, a large office, a separate library and large glass doors leading into the park-like yard.

But with little interest and much lower prices in the neighborhood, the price steadily declined into single digits last year.
Macpherson, who once was known as “the body,” bought it for nearly $900,000 less than the latest listed price of $8.9 million.
Her new BF Wakefield’s name doesn’t appear on the deed nor is he listed as director of Macpherson’s shell company. Lawyer Ringel didn’t return calls and an email requesting his comment.
Wakefield, 61, sparked an anti-vaccination movement with discredited research that allegedly showed measles vaccines could cause autism and bowel disease. Stripped of his license to practice medicine in England and moved with his wife and children to Austin, where he found an audience for his faulty findings.
Wakefield met Macpherson late last year while still living with wife Carmel.
Macpherson’s four-year marriage to Soffer, a developer whose family built thousands of condos in Aventura and major resorts nationally, ended last year. It was reported Elle walked away with $53 million cash and a $26 million-home.
