While it seems a million miles away, in fact it is just a short five minute walk to Russell Wharf.

‘End of day magic,’ Elle captioned one of her stunning vista photos on Instagram – later posting again with a ‘Walk by the Water’ close to the newly re-furbished Duke of Marlborough Hotel.

The property Elle was staying in boasts three double bedrooms, three bathrooms, a fully open kitchen, dining room and living room and unrivalled views over Matauwhi Bay.

Elle has also been sampling what the Bay of Islands has to offer on a culinary level.

There seems to be one place she enjoys above all – The Gables restaurant – on Russell Wharf.

The Gables manager, Paul Graham, told FEMAIL ‘she must have liked it because she came back three times with friends for lunch and dinner’, even though he wouldn’t let on to what the model ordered.

Mr Graham wouldn't let on what the model ordered, but the menu does feature beef (pictured), as well as fish - which would chime well with Elle's alkaline diet

The Gables itself is extremely famous in the Bay of Islands, principally because it is the country’s oldest operating restaurant, built from pit-sawn Kauri in 1847 on whalebone foundations.

Current menus boast things like oven-roasted hapuka for NZ $37 (AUD $33.50) for dinner and chargrilled steak with café de paris butter for NZ $25 (AUD $22.50) for lunch on the menu right now.

Guests who are in the mood for sharing can also split a whole snapper between two people for NZ $70 (AUD $63.20)  – which Elle is sure to like thanks to her being on the alkaline diet – or a whole rib of beef for NZ $68 (AUD $61.50).

Just three hours ago, Elle posted on Instagram from Aotearoa, where she seems to have moved for the last leg of her holiday. It remains to be seen where she is staying.
