Inside Europe’s biggest sex festival: Medieval stocks, four-poster bed and love hammocks set up

A secretive swingers’ festival in Worcestershire has entered day two, as aerial images show some of the kinky equipment on display at the Swingfields event.

Amorous revellers were pitching their tents in fields in Worcestershire, for secretive sex-fest Swingfields, after organisers had been tight-lipped about the event’s location.

Medieval stocks and a four-poster bed were among the equipment being laid out for the three-day event where hundreds of people were expected to attend themed events titled ‘special plans’ and ‘Swingfields magic’.

The festival, which last took place at Flaxley, near Westbury-on-Severn, Gloucestershire, in 2016 and 2015, is revealed to attendees by signs saying: ‘SF this way’.

Worcestershire Regulatory Services, acting on behalf of Forest of Dean District Council, confirmed the festival has a premises licence.

The licence allows the sale of alcohol, regulated entertainment and late-night refreshment on June 28 until July 1.

Revellers are bound by a strict code of confidentiality and can be booted out of the festival if they share it to the media.

Huge marquees have already been erected as revellers venture to the three-day event near Three Counties Showground.

The site was a tightly-guarded secret and ticket-holder only learned of the location 48 hours prior but signs dotted along country roads have now revealed the secret spot.

Organisers have remained especially tight-lipped this year, citing ‘trolls’ and ‘media intrusion’ as their reasons.

‘If the live entertainment is too much for you then relax in our new ‘chill’ zone (although it’s heated!) with relaxing background music, and chat to friends.

Organisers said: ‘We have upgraded the showers and toilets so the latest festival luxuries are available, and for those self catering this year we also have washing up facilities (please DONT USE the sinks in the toilet units or they overflow!)

‘Perhaps camping is too much hassle so we are now offering a full range of GLAMPING, to include electric and heating options, all bedding, furnishings and lighting, …. so you just turn up and relax!

‘Friday night is our THEMED night, and closer to the event we will confirm what special plans we have, a chance to get the fancy dress out and we will add the special ‘Swingfields’ magic to the plans.’

The website also offers a glossary of terms for festival-goers to become familiar with before arrival.

According to the guide, a ‘unicorn’ is a single woman ‘in the lifestyle’ – described as ‘pretty are rare’.

In 2015 and 2016 the event was held in Flaxley, with Temporary Event Licences issued by Forest of Dean District Council.

While some residents objected to the event organisers highlighted robust security and ticketing systems.

Three-day couples’ tickets cost £195, a singe gentleman’s is £170 and a three-day ladies ticket is £115.

One endorsement on Swingfields’ website reads:  ‘This was our first and definitely not our last visit to the adult disneyland that was swingfields.

‘Met lots of lovely people even after the event people we didn’t meet there are contacting us to say hi. It was just a liberating experience that has to be experienced by every liberated swinger and lifestyler in Europe.’
