Inside flat where ‘Las Ramblas jihadi’ Moussa Oukair lived

Terrorist suspect: Police are hunting suspected Barcelona terror attacker Moussa Oukabir, 18

This is the flat where Las Ramblas terror suspect Moussa Oukabir allegedly plotted to massacre tourists in Barcelona.

His possessions have been piled up in a corner after anti-terror police searched the humble ground-floor flat on the outskirts of Ripoll.

A shisha pipe with a dirty tobacco filter sits on a low table, a carpet is rolled up, chairs and tables are stacked. An old bicycle is covered by blankets. Building supplies are hidden underneath.

The flat, where 17-year-old Moroccan Oukabir lived with his mother and two sisters, was raided this morning by anti-terrorist police.

Neighbours today told of their shock that the alleged mastermind of the shocking terror attack that killed 13 and wounded over 100 had lived quietly in their midsts.

‘I can’t believe that he [Moussa Oukabir] lives here. They are a quiet family. There is nothing remarkable about them.

‘There is the mother and her children – two daughters and two sons, Dris and Moussa. The father does not live there anymore. He and the mother are separated.

‘Dris does not live there anymore. He lives with his girlfriend.

‘To be honest Moussa always seemed like a normal kid, nothing remarkable.’

Another neighbour, who asked not to be named, added: ‘I know Moussa he is a normal kid. He is a student, he studies IT. He lives to play football.

‘I know his dad as well. He doesn’t live here anymore but he is still in the area.

‘The family are not particularly religious. I don’t ever remember seeing Moussa at the mosque.

‘I can’t believe that he was involved with happened in Barcelona. It is shocking.’

Oukabir lived at the modest ground floor flat with mother Fatima Ouhnine and his sisters Fahima and Hanane. His father Said Oukabir no longer lives at the four-storey apartment block on the outskirts of Ripoll.

Specialist anti-terrorist police had to protect a terror suspect from a baying mob of angry citizens after he was arrested a short distance from Moussa Oukabir’s home in Ripoll.

The terror suspect, named locally as Salh el-Karib, was lead out of a second-storey apartment in the centre of town with a blanket over his head.

A 50-strong mob of angry citizens cursed and threatened him as he was lead to a waiting anti-terror police van.

The crowd shouted: ‘Son of a b****. You will die for what you did in Barcelona. We know where you live. You have nowhere to hide.’

An on-looker told MailOnline: ‘A crowd of about 50 people gathered around the flat when they learned that the police were making an arrest.

‘They cursed and threatened to kill the man when he was brought out of the apartment.
