Inside house of Reinhardt Bosch and Noemi Kondacs accused of murdering baby: Yugar QLD

A single light remains on inside a family home where a baby boy was allegedly tortured by his father with an ‘offensive instrument’ for seven months – before both his parents were accused of killing him.

Reinhardt Bosch, 33, and Noemi Kondacs, 22, allegedly tortured their seven-month-old son, Rhuan Immanuel, between April 11 and November 2 this year – over the course of his entire lifespan – until he died on Wednesday.

Paramedics called police to the rental home on Mount Samson Road in Yugar, north of Brisbane, at about 6.45am on Thursday after they found the boy unresponsive.

The couple, who are understood to be deeply religious, were charged with one count each of murder and torture, while Bosch also faces one charge of assault occasioning bodily harm. They faced Brisbane Magistrate’s Court via video link on Friday.

On Monday afternoon, days after detectives finished scouring the grisly scene, the home appeared dark, eerie and almost completely deserted – aside from a light that still glowed inside one of the bedrooms.

Outside the rented property were remnants of the couple’s semi-rural life – a large water container, empty cardboard boxes, a broom and a rake were scattered next to the stained glass bi-fold doors in the living room.

An abandoned trailer, stacks of tiles, solar panels and electrical cords were strewn on either side of the house, while garden ornaments and fairy lights were fixed to fences inside the padlocked driveway gate.

A few metres down the busy road was a bench brimming with flowers, teddy bears, and cards for the little boy.

‘Be at peace, little man,’ one card read.

One Yugar resident, who did not want to be named, told Daily Mail Australia her neighbours feel partly responsible because the alleged torture and murder happened under their noses.

‘We all blame ourselves a bit, but what can you do?’ she said.

The resident explained that she didn’t know the couple even had a baby, and if she had, the wouldn’t have been able to hear it over the constant roar of traffic on Mount Samson Road.

Horrified neighbours said they never spoke with the couple, originally from South Africa, but described the situation as ‘tragic’.

According to court documents, Bosch was a youth worker but had been unemployed for some time before his son died.

On Friday, Queensland Police Commissioner Katarina Carroll told ABC Radio the scene was ‘the most horrendous and confronting scene that you could ever face as a police officer’.

The couple were taken into custody at the scene where the infant was located deceased, police said.

Court documents allege Bosch tortured Rhuan and assaulted him while armed with an offensive instrument causing bodily harm between April 11 and November 2.

It’s alleged the parents prayed for the child’s recovery for up to 24 hours until they phoned for an ambulance when he was found unresponsive.

Police immediately sealed off the home and launched Operation Uniform Salwood to probe the circumstances surrounding the death.

‘At this stage we have no information that would suggest the child has any underlying health issues,’ Detective Inspector David Jackman said on Thursday.

‘The investigations uncovered injuries to the child that are enough for us to charge with murder.’

Bosch made the initial call to paramedics, Detective Inspector David Jackman said on Thursday.

The couple were not previously known to police, and nor was the address.

Brisbane Magistrate’s Court does not have the jurisdiction to hear bail applications for murder charges, and the matters were adjourned to December 5.
