Hugh Jackman and his wife have shelled out a whopping USD$21.12 (AUD$30million) for a penthouse in New York’s Chelsea district. 

The 440sqm apartment is located in an ultra chic building which boasts 57 units and listed with Noble Black Real Estate.

According to realestate.com, the apartment has been on and off the market since October last year before Hugh snapped it up.

Daniel Fischel, president of the global economic consulting company Compass Lexecon, is the former owner.  

It comes just weeks after the X-Men actor and his beloved wife listed their incredible three-storey condo in New York City for sale.

The pair have lived in the swanky downtown Manhattan apartment since 2008 when they bought it for USD$21million (AUD$29.3million).

The five-bedroom, seven-bathroom triplex, located in the trendy West Village, has a price guide of USD$38.9million (AUD$54.2million).

Hugh revealed last year he was homesick for his native Australia after NYC’s lengthy Covid lockdown.

Deborra, 66, and the couple’s children had initially been in Melbourne when coronavirus was declared a pandemic in March 2019.

But they returned to the US just four days later in order to keep the family together.

In 2020, during tensions amidst the U.S presidential elections, Hugh’s wife spoke on The Morning Show saying they were ‘desperate’ to move back to Australia. 

It appears, with this new purchase, the couple have changed their mind.
