Inside Royal Caribbean’s seven-day $170K luxury suite with slide and jacuzzi on the private balcony

Take a look inside the luxurious Royal Caribbean cruise ship suite that can cost up to $170,000 for seven nights.

The Ultimate Family Suite is Royal Caribbean’s take on a penthouse, spanning 1,346 square feet on two levels and complete with a balcony jacuzzi, 100-foot Lego wall, slide, ping pong table, best sleeper sofas, 85-inch TV and three video game consoles.

The two-bedroom suite can accommodate up to eight people and has amenities geared at children and adults alike – which would be expected given its hefty price tag.

Royal Caribbean’s Ultimate Family Suite is decked out with dozens more amenities than the typical cruise ship cabin and a price tag to match, costing up to $170,000 for a seven-night journey

The colorful accommodations are surprisingly spacious given what one would expect on a cruise ship.

A red carpet leads up to the front entrance, which opens to the bright living space outfitted with plenty of spots to socialize or unwind after a long day of other activities on the boat.

Also in the main living area is a two-story slide big enough for both kids and their parents to use when switching between floors.

On the second story the master bedroom looks over the living room, with curtains that can be pulled in case the occupants need privacy.

The adjoining bedroom which has a small couch and a lofted twin bed, is covered in colorful tiles that match the suite’s playful aesthetic.

The suite’s balcony is furnished with a small table and chairs for enjoying breakfast or cocktail hour over the ocean.

Nearby there is a standard-size jacuzzi for when guests want to take a dip in a more private setting than the pools on deck.

The luxury accommodations are on board the Symphony of the Seas, unveiled as the largest cruise ship in the world earlier this year.

It’s part of Royal Caribbean’s attempts to double its earnings by rolling out more upscale offerings that are attractive enough to customers that they’re willing to pay higher prices.

‘People are perfectly happy to pay for a product that they perceive as being of value, and we just elevated that perception of value and we elevated the price,’ CEO Michael Bayley told Business Insider.

In the suite’s case, Bayley says, the amenities justify the price tag.

‘I would challenge any company in the world to show me a better family suite. It is the ultimate family suite,’ he said.

The Symphony of the Seas mainly travels within the Caribbean Sea visiting various islands, but also does a jaunt across the Atlantic from Florida to Barcelona.
