Shelley Craft and her husband Christian Sergiacomi have successfully transformed a 1950s Byron Bay beach shack into a stunning family home.

The Block’s co-host renovated Pacifico cottage, which is a close to Tallow Beach, in four weeks after selling their ultramodern five-bedroom pad in Byron for $4.9 million.

‘I had driven past this little blue home for years and always dreamt about how much fun it would be to take an old surf shack and bring it back to life, so when it came up for sale I knew I would have to jump on it quickly,’ she told 9Entertainment.

Shelley said the biggest part of the renovation was the asbestos removal, but once it was completed they decided to paint the home ‘Diorite’.

She transformed the outdated bathrooms into modern spaces but ‘left the plumbing in the original positions to save time and money’.

Shelley used a vintage sand for the floor tile and incorporated an oversized Matt York Subway tile for the walls.

For accessorises, the couple installed tapware, basins, towel racks and mirrors with a brushed copper finish, as well as a barn door.

‘The girls’ bedrooms are again bursting with colour and fun, that can be easily pared back as they grow,’ she said.

The beach home also has a spacious living area and dining room which opens out to a deck and a private pool complete with an outdoor shower.

It comes after Shelley and Christian sold their stunning ultramodern five-bedroom pad in Byron for a cool $4.9 million.

The pair, according to Domain, added a studio, pool and manicured gardens to the luxe pad, which they originally bought for $3 million.

‘There’s a big difference between renovating for profit and renovating to create your ideal family home, and it’s the latter that really translates for buyers around Byron because it’s very much a lifestyle-driven market,’ Shelley said, according to the publication.

The couple are reportedly going to launch their own boutique selling agency, called Pacifico, the same name as the cottage.
