Inside The Actor’s Studio’s creator and former host James Lipton has died, aged 93.

Lipton, who died early Monday, was suffering from bladder cancer, his wife Kedakai Turner told TMZ. 

She said of her husband: ‘There are so many James Lipton stories but I’m sure he would like to be remembered as someone who loved what he did and had tremendous respect for all the people he worked with.’

In his 22 seasons hosting his iconic show, Lipton interviewed the greats of Hollywood, with numerous stars joining him to answer questions about their craft in front of an audience of student actors.

From Gwyneth Paltrow to Al Pacino, Halle Berry to Ben Affleck, Lipton was never turned down by an invited guest. 

Along with his work on the show, he was also a writer and actor.

Regularly spoofed on SNL in the 2000s, Lipton was head writer on television shows including The Doctors, The Best of Everything, Another World, Capitol and Return to Peyton Place.

He also acted on a variety of shows, including Bewitched and The Goldbergs.
