Inside the big Bluey secret that will NEVER be revealed – despite the hit children’s TV show winning legions of fans from all around the world
While Bluey is one of the biggest children’s shows in the world right now, no one knows the identity of the young actress who voices the title character.
According to an interview with actress Melanie Zanetti on Kidspot on Friday, the show’s producers agreed to keep the identities of the show’s youngest stars a secret.
Melanie – who voices Bluey’s mum, Chilli – explained that the producers decided not to identify the voices behind Bluey and Bingo in an effort to protect their identity.

While all of the other actors on the show about a family of Australian cattle dogs are given a credit, the stars behind Bluey and Bingo are noticeably missing.
‘All the children on the show are members of the family of people in production. I am so glad that the creatives on the show decided that no one would be in the credits to protect the young cast,’ explained Melanie, 36.
She said it was a decision that was made early on in the production of the animated series, and is one she’s thankful for.

‘I think that was so clever and I’m so happy that, not knowing how big the show would be, they had the foresight to do it,’ she added.
‘In the long term, I think that protecting young people is so important in this industry.
‘You read so many things about things that have happened to people who were in this industry so early and I am so grateful to the Bluey creatives for being so wise in that area.’

Speaking to TV Week in November last year, Melanie said she never ‘could have predicted just how massive Bluey would become’.
Despite Bluey’s popularity around the world, Melanie admitted she ‘never’ gets recognised by her voice.
‘I have quite a chameleon voice and, as an actor, I slightly alter my vocal quality for the character of Chilli,’ she revealed.
