Instagram is down – with users worldwide unable to access the app or website

Instagram has gone down today, with thousands of people worldwide complaining of issues.

Users are unable to access Facebook via the app or website.

On Downdetector.com, there were thousands of user-generated reports of an outage after 8:30am.

The app says ‘Sorry, something went wrong,’ or ‘sorry, couldn’t refresh feed,’ whenever a user tries to refresh it.

Instagram have not released a statement about the outage and it is unknown how long the app will be down for.

Many took to Twitter to complain  about the outage, with many joking they were unable to doomscroll on their way into work this morning.

‘My job requires me to access social media so Instagram being down right now is stuffing with my money,’ one wrote.

‘INSTAGRAM IS DOWN AND I WAS JUST DMING A BADDIE,’ another said.

‘What is going on with my page,’ a third added.

‘I always get stressed to see if my Instagram account was hacked/deleted or if Instagram is down,’  another said.

‘Thought I was the only one, I restarted my phone and everything,’ a fifth added.

Instagram is one of the world’s most popular apps, with more than 2.35 billion monthly active users.

Instagram has been approached for comment.

The app is owned by Meta, the parent company of Facebook.
