Instagram has gone down for users worldwide.

The outage hit the Meta-owned app around 11am ET, taking down the app.

It is unknown how many people have been impacted, but Instagram reports it has over two billion monthly active users worldwide.

Downdetector, a site that monitors online outages, shows the US, UK, parts of Europe, Asia and Australia are experiencing issues.

Many Instagram users flocked to X to see if others are experiencing issues and to share their frustration over the outage.

The Elon Musk-owned app is flooded with posts saying: ‘Is Instagram down?’

Others have noted that Instagram seems to be ‘down more than any other social media app.’

The last outage hit the social media app on Monday.

This is a developing story… more updates to come.

The cause of the outage is unknown as Meta has yet to comment.

Instagram is one of the most popular social media apps in the world. It ranked third out of all such platforms worldwide in 2024.

However, the app seems to have an outage at least once a month.

While the last one hit just earlier this week, Instagram suffered a major glitch in January. More than 10,000 Americans issued outage reports to Downdetector.
