Inter Milan line up Antonio Conte as replacement for Luciano Spalletti

  • Antonio Conte has agreed to take over as Inter boss from Luciano Spalletti 
  • Inter are currently sitting fourth in Serie A with one game remaining this season  
  • Conte has been out of work since leaving Chelsea in the summer of 2018

Antonio Conte is set to take over from Luciano Spalletii as Inter Milan boss at the end of the current season, according to The Guardian.

The Milan giants are currently fourth in Serie A, one point ahead of city rivals AC with one game of the season remaining as they seek to seal a Champions League spot.

Conte has not worked since departing Chelsea last summer after lifting the Premier League title in his first season and FA Cup in his second during a tumultuous two-year spell.

The Italian has been considered for a number of high-profile roles at clubs including PSG and Bayern Munich.

However, the 49-year-old is keen to return to his homeland where he achieved notable success with Juventus.

Conte is keen to repeat that with Inter, who are aiming to return to the higher echelons of a divisoon completely dominated by Juventus in recent season.  

Conte has an existing relationship with Inter CEO, Beppe Marotta, having worked closely at Juventus between 2011 and 2014 when they lifted three straight Serie A titles.
