Can you work out what’s going on here?

A riddle that went viral on TikTok more than a month ago and left intellectuals and everyday scrollers alike perplexed, is still doing the rounds on social media but one Twitter user claims to have solved it.

On December 6, 2022, TikToker @thisis_bex (who has since deleted her account) posted a clip showing a herself looking provocatively in the mirror with the caption: ‘Imagine how good your life would be if you had a 26-year-old nursing assistant by your side, now replace S with N.’

The TikTok attracted over 5.4 million views in a week with thousands of commenters left baffled and dozens of memes emerging.

Many people guessed the answer was ‘nurning annintant’ and posted hilarious videos of themselves trying to pronounce the made up words after stitching @thisis_bex’s clip with their own.

Ranjodh Singh Dhaliwal, who is based in San Francisco and describes himself as a ‘scholar working at the intersections of media theory, science and technology studies, and literary criticism’, reignited interest in the riddle this week when he reposted a still of the TikTok to Twitter with the caption ‘every day, at least once I am haunted by this’.

He added in a thread: ‘This, for me, remains the biggest unsolved intellectual question of our era.’

His Tweet, which has since garnered more than 240,000 likes, quickly reignited peoples’ interest in the conundrum with one potential solution coming to the surface.

One Twitter user @v_alexey even ran the riddle through an AI program in an attempt to solve it, but the computer churned out a dissatisfying answer.

The response said: ‘The meaning an intent of this post is not clear and it may be inappropriate, objectifying, and disrespectful to the nursing profession.’

However, after giving the riddle much thought Chris Romano, from Chicago, who is studying behavioral science at Northwestern University, served up what he believes may well be the solution.

According to Chris, the key to solving the riddle lies in the ‘implied answer’ – and not, as many people thought, in the question itself.

He suggested that the reply many people would make to the riddle is ‘so good’ – noting that if you replace the ‘s’ in ‘so’ with the letter ‘n’ you get the answer: ‘No good.’

He tweeted: ‘I think the implied answer to ”how good your life would be…” is “so good”, which after swapping S->N would = “no good”, so its a self-deprecating joke of sorts.’

Thousands of Twitter users applauded Romano’s power of deduction.

Ben Kuebrich wrote: ‘I legit think you solved the riddle.’

And @jackqueen_ commented: ‘Dude you cracked the code. My mind is alas released from this burden.’

While many people praised Romano for solving the riddle, some doubted his theory.

Twitter user MacroMort quipped: ‘That doesn’t work at all. What if your answer was “Pretty good.”‘

Meanwhile, @COOlGUyAl said: ‘The problem with this is it makes too much sense. I really think there’s something to “nurning annintant” that we need to focus on and explore, rigorously.’

Following her post’s rise to fame, @thisis_bex deleted her TikTok account but her Instagram account @bex.baby406 remains active.

On the account she does refer to herself as a certified nursing assistant but as it links to her OnlyFans page, many aspiring sleuths have doubted her credentials.

One user said: ‘Guys I’m starting to think she isn’t actually a 26-year-old nursing assistant.’

While Romano claims to have solved @thisis_bex’s puzzle, she says there actually is no answer. She told the DailyDot.com after being hunted down for answers that ‘the answer is that it’s meant to be a brain stump. It doesn’t mean anything.’
