Tributes have flooded in for a young barista after she was killed in a horror crash in Sydney. 

Italian woman Paola Polla Toscano, 28, originally from Genoa, died after her Volkswagen Golf smashed head-on into a concrete divider on the Western Distributor in Pyrmont, on August 14. 

Paramedics rushed the young woman to St Vincent’s Hospital where she died a short time later.

Ms Toscano worked as a barista at Toco Fresh cafe in Concord which closed for a day in memory of her. 

The cafe also posted a touching tribute to Ms Toscano, who they described as ‘truly special’.  

‘Paola, you touched our hearts with your smile. Your positive energy radiated to everyone that had the chance of meeting you,’ the post read.

‘You are truly special and will be missed by us all. Rest in peace you beautiful soul.

‘Words cannot express how saddened the Toco team is to hear this news, our hearts go out to her family.’ 

Customers of the cafe were also heartbroken by Ms Toscano’s death and wrote tributes under the cafe’s post. 

‘Rest In Peace beautiful Paola. You made my day every time with your smile and passion for the job. Heaven now has new Angel and a wonderful barista,’ one user wrote. 

‘Oh my goodness my heart is breaking, sending all my love,’ another added. 

‘Extremely sorry to hear of this painful loss. May she RIP,’ another replied.
