Forget the White House, Ivanka Trump was channeling the bright lights of Hollywood as she arrived at the star-studded wedding of Meghan Markle’s designer best friend Misha Nonoo in Rome on Friday evening, looking every inch the glamorous movie star.
The 37-year-old made a stunning arrival at the glamorous ceremony, wearing a floor-length pale peach gown worn under a matching cape that tied elegantly at her neck – after flying to Rome on a commercial flight from Washington, D.C. on Thursday night.
Ivanka, who was joined by her husband Jared Kushner, who looked incredibly smart in a jacket and bow tie, added a touch of bling to her ensemble with a gold belt that cinched the dress in at the waist and highlighted her slim figure.
All about the glamour: Ivanka Trump looked like an old Hollywood movie star as she and Jared Kushner arrived at the wedding of Misha Nonoo and Mikey Hess
Taking the plunge: The 37-year-old’s peach-colored dress featured a plunging neckline, and was cinched in at the waist with a gold belt that helped to highlight her slim figure
All-out: In honor of the occasion, Ivanka stepped up her makeup look, using false eyelashes to inject extra glamour, while her newly-cut blonde locks were styled in glamorous waves rather than her usual sleek, straight style
Say cheese! Ivanka, who converted to Judaism in order to marry Jared, 38, in 2009, accessorized her look with a red string bracelet that is viewed as a token of luck in the Jewish faith
The first daughter added a simple gold clutch to complete the look, which featured a plunging neckline, and a low back that was clearly visible under the sheer fabric of her cape.
Even her hair had been given the Hollywood treatment; in place of the usual sleek, straight style she tends to favor, Ivanka’s short blonde locks – which were cut into a bob just a few weeks ago – were coiffed into chic waves, making her ‘do look all the more shorter, and helping to highlight her quirky shell earrings.
Her normal makeup routine was also stepped up to match the glamour of the occasion, with the first daughter adding some false lashes to her look, as well as some peachy pink blusher on her cheeks. She then added a slick of pale pink lipstick to her pout for a final touch.
Ivanka and Jared escaped the daily grind of White House life in order to enjoy a weekend away in Italy for the wedding – skipping an official dinner with the Australian Prime Minister and his wife in the process.
And it seems that they couldn’t bear the thought of wasting any of their time in Rome, after flying into the city on a commercial flight overnight on Thursday – with a source telling Politico that the couple, who have to privately fund any non-official travel themselves, were seen boarding a United plane out of Dulles.
Greetings: She happily waved to the cameras as the couple arrived at the star-studded ceremony
How low can you go: The back of Ivanka’s dress was cut incredibly low, with the sheer fabric of her cape allowing her to show off some skin
Funky fashion: Ivanka accessorized the glamorous gown with a pair of large shell earrings that appeared to be embellished with small diamonds
Not long after landing, the pair were seen out and about enjoying the sights and sounds of the city however, clearly keen to take full advantage of their weekend away.
The White House advisors were pictured strolling hand-in-hand through Rome in the morning morning, just hours before Misha and Mikey are due to tie the knot in front of a host of A-list guests, including outspoken Trump critic Katy Perry and her boyfriend Orlando Bloom.
Despite only being in Rome for a few hours, the couple appear to have settled into their vacation quickly, and looked happy and relaxed as they strolled around the city, with Ivanka, 37, embracing showing her support for local fashion by wearing a $2,695 dress by Italian design duo Dolce & Gabbana.
She paired the patterned frock with some espadrille wedges which tied up around her ankles, and added a pair of sunglasses to the ensemble to shield her eyes from the bright sunshine.
Ivanka also accessorized with a pair of chunky gold hoop earrings that appear to be from Jennifer Fisher – a jeweler beloved by many A-listers, including Jennifer Lopez and Michelle Obama.
Jared, 38, also wore a pair of shades, and he kept the rest of his outfit low-key and casual, wearing just a gray T-shirt and a pair of dark blue pants, finishing the look off with some gray suede sneakers.
That’s amore! Ivanka and Jared landed in Rome on Friday morning, and wasted no time in getting out and about in the city

Keep cool: Both Jared, 38, and Ivanka, 37, wore sunglasses for the sun-soaked outing, which took place just hours before Misha and Mikey are set to tie the knot
Touching: At one point, Ivanka was seen kissing her husband on the shoulder
It was first reported that Ivanka and Jared would be attending the wedding earlier this week, despite the fact that they are not known to be particularly close friends of the soon-to-be newlyweds.
They are actually missing an official White House dinner in order to attend the nuptials – with President Trump and Melania playing host to the Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and his wife Jenny on Friday for what is only their second state visit after more than two years in the White House.
However, while the first couple were greeting their Aussie guests on Friday morning, Ivanka and Jared were busy preparing to attend the star-studded ceremony of Misha and Mikey.
It is thought that the couple met Misha and Mikey through Jared’s brother Joshua, 34, who is a close friend of the groom. Both he and his model wife Karlie Kloss are in Rome for the nuptials, and were pictured enjoying dinner with several of the other guests – including Katy and Orlando – on Thursday night.
Karlie and Josh have a long-standing friendship with Misha and Mikey, who are understood to have attended their wedding celebrations in Wyoming earlier this year; both couples also joined billionaire David Geffen on his $200 million yacht this summer.
Sightseeing in style: The first daughter looked relaxed as she and Jared walked through the city with some friends
The look of love: Ivanka and Jared appeared to be soaking up the romantic atmosphere, and looked every inch the happy couple as they toured Rome
Out of office: The couple are actually missing an official dinner at the White House, where Donald and Melania Trump are playing host to the Australian Prime Minister and his wife
A number of the other guests who are believed to have been invited to Misha and Mikey’s ceremony are also known to be outspoken Democrats, which could cause some awkwardness when it comes to table plans.
Popstar Katy campaigned for Clinton and has had a lot to say about Ivanka’s father, Donald Trump — though she prefers not to utter his name.
‘I have this rule that I just say “45.” Everything is an energy. Words. Deep energy,’ she told Paper magazine this year.
Speaking to Vogue, she also said: ‘Misogyny and sexism were in my childhood: I have an issue with suppressive males and not being seen as equal. I felt like a little kid again being faced with a scary, controlling guy.’
Katy has tweeted in support of transgender members of the military, the LGBTQ community as a whole, gun violence protesters, and the Women’s March, and last year called Trump’s tweets about the Camp fire in California ‘an absolutely heartless response’.

However, should Ivanka and Jared wish to avoid any potential awkwardness at the nuptials, they will have plenty of other guests to turn to for conversation – including Prince Harry and Meghan, who is a best friend of designer Misha.
Royal correspondent Emily Andrews tweeted that the royal couple was ‘seen arriving in Rome’ on Thursday ahead of the nuptials, which are set to be held at Europe’s largest film studio, Cinecittà, where the likes of Rossellini and Fellini have worked.
It has been reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex traveled to Italy on a commercial flight, and it is also understood that they have left Archie at home and are enjoying some downtime ahead of their 10-day African royal tour, which kicks off on Monday.
Although Meghan is not thought to have met Ivanka and Jared before, the first daughter and her husband did get the chance to spend time with Prince Harry in June, when they accompanied President Donald Trump on his official visit to the UK.
At the time, Meghan was pregnant with baby Archie and was on maternity leave so did not attend any of the events that took place during the president’s trip.
Princess Beatrice is also in attendance at the ceremony, and it is thought that Queen Rania of Jordan will also make an appearance at some point.
Oprah’s best friend Gayle King, who was also invited to the Duchess of Sussex’s baby shower in February, is believed to be among the guests. Gayle also attended Misha’s pop-up launch in New York City earlier this month.
A royal knees up: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were seen arriving at the sunset ceremony together, with the royal couple coordinating in matching black ensembles
Awkward? Also in attendance at the wedding are outspoken Trump critic Katy Perry and her boyfriend Orlando Bloom
