Jack Beasley, 17, killed in Surfers Paradise stabbing is identified; as tributes flow

A teenager who tragically died after he and another boy were stabbed on the Gold Coast has been identified. 

Jack Beasley, 17, was fatally stabbed in the chest and back after a fight broke out between two groups on Friday night on Surfers Paradise Boulevard.   

Police say the melee began about 8.10pm, and some of those involved fled the scene.

Tributes are flowing for the young man. 

‘Gone way too soon my brutha… it feels like yesterday we were roaming the streets getting into trouble. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. Fly high and rest easy my brother,’ one person wrote. 

A Queensland Police spokeswoman confirmed to Daily Mail Australia that the boy’s next of kin had been notified.

Both teens were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital, where Mr Beasley passed away. 

Detectives are urging anyone who may have been involved in the altercation or witnessed the incident to contact police. 

Investigations are continuing, a statement said.
