Jackie ‘O’ Henderson recalls awkward encounter with The Castle’s Michael Caton

Radio presenter Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has recalled her awkward encounter with Australian actor Michael Caton.

She spoke of her ‘bad experience’ with Caton, who is best known for starring in the beloved Aussie film The Castle, on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Thursday.

His name came up during the daily celebrity birthdays segment when her co-host Kyle Sandilands noted Caton had just turned 79.

Henderson, 47, admitted she felt uneasy about congratulating the Packed to the Rafters star after her run-in with him more than 20 years ago.

The alleged incident took place at the Australian People’s Choice Awards after-party in the late ’90s when Henderson was still married to first husband ‘Ugly Phil’ O’Neil.

‘We loved The Castle. At the after-party, Phil goes and buys a bottle of red wine and takes it over to Michael Caton,’ Jackie recounted.

‘He says, “Mate, I just love you and what you do, and I wanted to give you this bottle of wine.” [Caton] said, “No thanks.” So Phil just walked back with the bottle of wine.’

‘I think he actually said worse than that, if I’m honest. A polite way of saying, “Go away,”‘ Jackie added.

Henderson said O’Neil returned looking dejected, and told her: “Oh, wow… that was embarrassing.’

She then warned listeners: ‘It’s really hard to go up to a celebrity that you love, because you’re nervous and you hope they’re going to be nice to you.

‘You hear horror stories… they’re not all lovely.’

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Caton’s management for comment.

Earlier this week, Henderson recalled the stomach-churning moment Hollywood actor Anthony Anderson farted in her face while he was filming a movie in Australia.

She described the bizarre incident on Monday’s show following a discussion about Miriam Margolyes, who recently claimed Arnold Schwarzenegger passed wind in her face while they were filming together.

‘I’ve had it before, an actor farted in my face, and I’ve never gotten over it,’ she said in response to Margolyes’ smelly encounter.

‘Anthony Anderson. He’s this big American comedian who was in [2003 film] Kangaroo Jack; they were filming out here [in Australia],’ she added.

‘He came in for an interview, and he literally just, like, came over to me, turned his bum to my face, bent down, and let out a massive fart.’

Sandilands insisted that Anderson’s antics weren’t completely out of place at the time, as the rules of social etiquette were different.

‘I think people thought they could just come in here and do anything,’ Henderson conceded.

It’s not the first time Anderson has made headlines for flatulence in the workplace.

Back in 2016, The Shield star revealed on Late Night with Seth Meyers that he once broke wind during a taping of Law and Order.

‘I don’t know what I had for lunch that day but I had the bubble guts. I was holding it in during this entire five-minute scene, and as I left the room I left something in the room,’ he recalled.

Henderson’s tale came days after Harry Potter star Margolyes made similar assertions about an on-set incident with Schwarzenegger while they were filming End of Days in 1999.

‘Schwarzenegger, didn’t care for him. He’s a bit too full of himself,’ Miriam said on the I’ve Got News For You podcast earlier this week.

‘He was actually quite rude. He farted in my face. Now, I fart, of course I do, but I don’t fart in people’s faces. He did it deliberately, right in my face.’

Margolyes said the incident took place when the pair were shooting in Los Angeles.

‘I was playing Satan’s sister and [his character] was killing me, so he had me in a position where I couldn’t escape, lying on the floor. And he just farted,’ she said.

‘It wasn’t on film, it was in one of the pauses, but I haven’t forgiven him for it.’
