Jacqueline Jossa returns home from Portugal with daughters after ‘crazy’ journey and busy airport

She spent the past week soaking up the sun in Portugal.

Yet Jacqueline Jossa, 28, made it home to Essex on Sunday after a ‘crazy journey’ with daughters, Ella, six, and Mia, two, as they joined a hoard of holidaymakers racing back before the change in quarantine rules.

Speaking on her Instagram Stories, the actress revealed her youngest daughter had been ‘temperamental’ during the flight but they ‘got there in the end’ as they rushed home before the country is put back on the amber travel list.

Thousands of British travellers in Portugal have faced chaos at airports, with many describing boarding flights with just minutes to spare while others will be forced to quarantine because they cannot book PCR tests.

As Portugal moves into the amber list, passengers have until 4am Tuesday to return to the UK or quarantine for 10 days, and must have proof of a negative PCR test taken no more than three days before their departure or face a £500.

Speaking about her experience on holiday, Jacqueline said: ‘For those asking, Portugal was absolutely fine. You have to wear your masks everywhere.’

She continued: ‘Obviously you have to get tested there, get tested on your way back and get tested here. You have to show all of your stuff as well.

‘It doesn’t go into the amber list until Tuesday so we don’t have to quarantine. We’ve done all our tests and everything was negative so we’re all good.’

Discussing her journey home, she said the airport was ‘super, super busy’ as people made attempts to get home before they will be forced to quarantine.

The EastEnders actress was joined by her husband Dan Osborne, 29, for four days of their week-long trip.

When asked on her opinions about measures being lifted on June 21, she wrote on her Stories: ‘Hurry up! I’m a bit sceptical, I think they will push it back again for another mad reason. It’s been way too long now, we need to get back to normal life.

‘I’m grateful for the lifting we have had so far, it’s been lovely to see family inside and in gardens etc. It’s just crazy to think any of this has even happened. My mind is blown.’

Responding to a question from a fan who asked why she went on holiday, Jacqueline said: ‘Because it was ok to do so… I was allowed… Mad I have to say “was allowed”… like countries now have traffic light systems. Mad.

‘I wanted to, my life my choice. All the procedures were in place, was completely safe. All negative tests and forms filled in! Don’t worry my hun.’

It comes after her husband Dan took to his story to rant about the pandemic on Saturday to his 1.1million followers after returning home from Portugal.

He said the pandemic ‘is about money’ despite it causing a global recession which is the worst economic disaster since the Great Depression of the 1930s.

He also claimed that coronavirus ‘is not dangerous enough to be forcing a vaccine on the world’ and that he won’t be getting the jab – and neither will his three young children.

‘I’ve said it from day one. People are going to have a go at me, but the whole thing is about money. The whole damn thing.

‘I’ve had hundreds, maybe thousands of messages about kids getting the vaccination. Personally that s**t isn’t even going in me – never mind my kids. People do your research, it’s not good!’

Comfort eating: He added that he was feeling 'nervous' after the barrage of comments he had been inundated with after his rant
