Jadon Sancho was involved in a Three Lions love-in on Twitter as his England colleagues raced to congratulate him on his first Manchester United goal.

Sancho moved to Old Trafford in the summer after finally agreeing a move from Borussia Dortmund, however he had struggled for consistent playing time under previous boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Norwegian was dismissed on Sunday and Sancho was called into the starting line-up for United’s Champions League clash with Villarreal by interim boss Michael Carrick.

The 21-year-old shone having been given a starting berth and put the cherry on top of the standout performances by smashing home his first ever goal for the club after being teed up by Bruno Fernandes.

The goal didn’t only catch the eye of United fans, as some of his international team-mates took to Twitter to revel in their friend’s success.

Jude Bellingham, his former Borussia Dortmund team-mate simply posted the player’s initials on the social media network, next to a smiling face.

Declan Rice also wrote a message, stating ‘Buzzing for you Sanch’ while also posting a smiling face and a love heart.

Sancho responded to thank both, and will be hoping that there will be more Twitter platitudes heading his way as he looks to kick on.

Bellingham and Rice were not the only pair to take note of his performance, with pundits in the BT studio also dishing out praise for the forward’s starring role.

Speaking at full-time, Paul Scholes said: ‘He looked fitter than he has done. I was really pleased for him. A really young player who’s had a difficult start. But I thought he was United’s best player tonight.

‘I think they need to use him more. Playing in this team is a little different, because he doesn’t have a flying full back like he did at Dortmund, which I think helps.

‘He wants to play further up. He’s such a clever footballer. I think he’s fitter. You just look at him, I think he looks half a stone slimmer.’
