Dortmund announced on their social media feeds on Tuesday afternoon that the teenager had extended his existing deal until June 30, 2022.

Sancho, who scored five times and contributed seven assists in his debut campaign with Dortmund, said: ‘I am very glad that I decided to change to Dortmund just over a year ago because everything turned out to be true – this city lives football like no other and at Borussia young players are given playing time.
