Jadon Sancho returns to Man United’s training ground to train on his own after refusing to apologise to Erik ten Hag and being banished from first-team practice

Jadon Sancho arrived for his isolated training at Manchester United’s Carrington training ground on Friday morning after being banished from first-team practice yesterday. 

The 23-year-old refused to apologise for his public fall-out with manager Erik ten Hag and the feud has only intensified as a result.

United released a statement yesterday announcing that Sancho would be forced to train alone due to a ‘squad discipline issue’. 

It follows Sancho’s public fallout with Erik ten Hag after the manager criticised his performances in training, with the winger calling his words ‘completely untrue’.

Ten Hag is set to speak later today and will no doubt be asked about a saga which threatens to further derail a faltering start to United’s season, with the problems surrounding Mason Greenwood and Antony casting the club in a negative light. 

United’s statement read: ‘Jadon Sancho will remain on a personal training programme away from the first-team group pending resolution of a squad discipline issue.’

Ten Hag is still furious that Sancho, who signed for £73million in 2021, effectively branded him a liar for saying he was left out of the squad to face Arsenal because of his lacklustre training performances.

Sancho posted on social media: ‘Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people to say things that are completely untrue. I have conducted myself in training very well this week.

‘I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into, I’ve been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!

‘All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to the team. I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and I am grateful to do so, which I know every week is a challenge. I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what!’
