Jameela Jamil SLAMS follower for accusing her of being a ‘bad Muslim’

Jameela Jamil has hit back at a Twitter follower after he accused her of being a ‘bad Muslim.’

The actress, 32, initially took to the popular social media platform on Saturday to preach the message of body confidence and self love with a picture of her in a pretty sundress a few years back – when the troll stuck.

‘Do you think this is a proper dress for a Muslim woman?’ the angry follower asked Jameela before also revealing his desires for her to ‘get on the right path’ – an opinion which didn’t sit well with the star, who is of Indian and Pakistani descent.

Defiant; Jameela Jamil, 32, has hit back at a Twitter follower after he accused her of being a ‘bad Muslim’

Jameela’s message on positivity and fulfilment didn’t go unnoticed by one follower in particular – but for all the wrong reasons as he tweeted back: ‘According to your name .. I guess u r a Muslim lady …. Do you think this is a proper dress for a Muslim woman ??

‘Hope you get to the right path and respect ALLAH if you really believe in him … Sorry for my comments. Good Luck,’ it was concluded.

The eagle-eyed presenter-turned-Netflix star swiftly responded: ‘Actually, I’m not a Muslim, I wasn’t raised as Muslim. My mother was a model and my father ate pork and drank alcohol.

‘My uncle was a catholic priest. I was raised in the West. I have no religion i follow so I’m on a fine path and all women should be allowed to dress how we like!’ she defiantly responded on her Twitter platform, which boasts 215,000 followers.

Her defiant response comes after she shared snaps of herself walking down the street in a white sundress from 2013, and added: ‘When I was on steroids and gained 70lbs for a couple of years. Did I cover up? No. I wore whatever I liked and owned my fun body that took me from A to B.

‘I also released a plus size clothing line and started a great, long relationship. Over the course of 5 years of no meds it came off. But I didn’t kill myself in a gym, I didn’t diet. I embraced it and believed I was worth more than punishing myself for some weight when I had built this whole life I was enjoying and proud of.

‘For anyone who has doubts about my sentiment for “I weigh” it’s not about how you should feel about your looks. It’s about how you should feel about your life. About all of you, rather than just your exterior. All the things you should value about yourself.’

This comes after Jameela – who shot to fame on T4 – hit out at Khloe Kardashian over a blog post telling followers how to ‘look thin’ in pictures.

Jameela, who stars in The Good Place, shared the posts after launching her ‘I Weigh’ body confidence campaign, which encourages women to share how much they ‘weigh’ when measured in accomplishments, rather than the number on the scales.
