Jamie Carragher has been caught out looking at his phone live on air ahead of the Champions League final between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

Working as a pundit for Viasport Fotball, his co-presenter Jan Aage Fjortoft asked him a question as the cameras were rolling, but the Liverpool legend didn’t appear to be paying attention.

‘Are we on air?’ Carragher could be seen mouthing after looking up from his phone and water bottle on the desk.

Carra then hastily hid the bottle and the phone underneath the desk, and picked up the microphone to continue the segment.

‘We are on air, but that’s okay,’ the former Norwegian centre forward told him, ‘you’re thirsty, you wanted to check the phone.’

‘Hungover,’ retorted Carragher with a smile on his face, before insisting that he didn’t actually go out the night before.
