Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo give update on lost honeymoon luggage

Their luggage went missing as they jetted off on their Panama honeymoon this week.

And Jamie Laing and his wife Sophie Habboo excitedly gave fans an update on their dire situation on Friday, after spending the last few days without any of their belongings.

After Jamie was forced to wear only his underwear before borrowing hotel staff’s clothes on their idyllic getaway, Jamie announced to his Instagram followers their bags had been found.

However, all was not well as their belongings had been sent back to their home in London rather than on to meet them in Panama.

In an Instagram video, Jamie said: ‘My luggage has been found and it got sent home, it’s arrived back in London.

‘Which is a disaster because we’re leaving this island and going somewhere else and we have no stuff.’

Pointing towards Sophie, who was lazing behind him in a bikini, Jamie said: ‘She doesn’t care. Do you care Soph?’

She responded: ‘I do because it has s**t loads of stuff in it. It has my make-up bag, it has my wash bag, it has my vitamins in it, it has my laptop in it, it has two of my hats in it.’

Continuing the tale in another clip, Jamie said: ‘Honestly, for anyone who cares, this whole luggage situation is now like a reality show. It’s wild!

‘The luggage is back in London and I was freaking out, thinking, “How the hell did my luggage get back to London?” So I’m on the phone to Copa America, the airline, to find out how it got back to London and they’re like, “We haven’t found it yet.”

‘And I was like, “What? But… it’s back in London!” Anyway, I then get a WhatsApp message from an airline, from Copa America, being like, “Hey, is your luggage back?” I was like, “Yeah, how do you know this?” They were like, “KLM sent it back.”

‘So KLM just somehow sent it back to London, my first airline I took, and Copa America are like, “It’s KLM’s fault.”‘

He concluded: ‘So now it’s like, do I get the baggage sent out to me to Panama, or do I just buy new stuff? Honeymoon!’

Sophie Habboo poked fun at her husband Jamie Laing after he was forced to wear his underwear and borrow hotel staff’s clothes on their idyllic honeymoon in Panama.

The Made In Chelsea stars had a nightmare start to their trip as Jamie’s luggage got lost while jetting across four different countries in a bid to make it to South America earlier this week.

While he revealed to fans on Thursday that his luggage has now been located by airline staff, he was dealt another blow by learning the case has been sent back to London – more than 5000 miles away.  

Consequently, Jamie, 34, has been forced to wear his boxers around the pool and borrow a ‘very kind’ staff member’s clothes for dinner.

Teasing her new husband, Sophie, 29, took to her Instagram Stories to document his ordeal on Thursday.

In one video, Sophie films Jamie lounging by the pool in a pair of black boxers as he attempts to open coconuts for the couple. 

After his attempts fail, Jamie is then forced to leave their luxury villa and make his way down to reception for help.

But unfortunately for him, Jamie is left with no choice but to depart in his underwear, leaving newlywed Sophie particularly amused.

Filming the event, Sophie captures Jamie stressing about his lack of clothes, asking followers: ‘Do his boxers look like shorts? lol’.

In the background of the clip, Jamie says: ‘Do these look like shorts?’

‘No’, Sophie responds.

Getting increasingly frustrated, Jamie laments: ‘I need clothes Sophie!’

In another video, after Jamie’s continued stress, Sophie then comforts her husband telling him: ‘They look like shorts. They look black shorts, sports shorts. Honestly’  

‘Are you sure?’ Jamie asks.

Making fun: Consequently, Jamie, 34, has been forced to wear his boxers around the pool as he tells his wife: ‘I need clothes, Sophie!’

Struggling to keep her laughter in, she admits: ‘Yeah, like you’re doing P.E training with that little top.’

Fortunately for Jamie, Sophie later reveals that he was able to borrow clothes from a ‘very kind’ staff member for dinner.

Posting a video to her Story, Jamie can be seen in a pair of green tracksuit trousers, a lime green Lacoste t-shirt and flip flops.

He says: ‘One of a kind employees gave me their clothes.

‘Staff flip flops, travelling trackies and one of the staff gave me one of their Lacoste shirts.

He got it for Christmas, and Sophie likes the colour because it’s green.’

Chiming in, Sophie says: ‘And FYI we’re on an island and there’s no shops here.’

Later in the day, Jamie took to his Story to tell his fans about the latest saga with his lost luggage.  

He explained: ‘Update on the luggage, good news and bad news. Good news – apparently they found the luggage, apparently. Bad news is that they’ve sent the luggage back to London.

‘So apparently they found the luggage which I actually don’t think is true, but it’s back in London. We’re in Panama so what the hell is the point in that?

If one more person tells me to pivot or I should have put clothes in Sophie’s bag. We ‘know, get an Air Tag!’

While Jamie might be having a difficult start to their honeymoon, only a day earlier Sophie enjoyed some much needed rest and relaxation as she soaked up the sunshine. 

The Made In Chelsea star looked incredible in a skimpy geometric print bikini as she relaxed outside her private villa. 

However, her husband Jamie was looking considerably stressed as he lamented the loss of his luggage on their nightmare journey to arrive. 

Giving fans an update on Tuesday, he took to his Instagram Stories to explain: ‘Good morning from Panama. Still no sign of the suitcase. 

At the beginning it was kind of funny because we were off away on our honeymoon but actually being on a honeymoon without your suitcase is a f***ing nightmare.

‘So if anyone has any advice on how to find a suitcase on a flight – I don’t know what I’m asking for… yes I know I should have had a tracker, I’ve been told that already. But anything at all because I have no clothes at all and I’m on my honeymoon!’

The pair finally arrived at their honeymoon suite on Tuesday after a nightmare start to their trip as that saw them forced to travel to four different countries in 24 hours due to flight cancellations. 

But the newlyweds had a positive update for their Instagram followers as they finally arrived at the stunning destination.

Jamie was all smiles as he and Sophie enjoyed a coconut while relaxing in their lavish accommodation. 

Meanwhile, Sophie went topless and donned a pair of skimpy white bikini bottoms while topping up her tan.

The Made In Chelsea star updated fans on the latest tragedy as he revealed on Instagram that amid all the jet-setting his luggage had been lost.

Revealing that he was ‘beginning to lose his patience’ as this point, the newlywed shared a selfie in front of his upset looking wife.

He shared: ’32hrs later we arrive in Panama @sophiehabboo luggage is here. Mine isn’t… it’s been left in Columbia… patience is starting to go now [angry face emojis].’

It was the latest tragedy to beset the pair after he revealed they were forced to visit no less than four countries in just 24 hours in a bid to get to their honeymoon destination.

Earlier in the day, he shared a selfie as he wrote: ‘Finally on flight two back to the UK from Amsterdam. This one was delayed 2.5 hours.’

The TV personality shared a snap of Sophie looking at her phone while sat in the window seat of their plane as they jetted off on their third flight of the day to Columbia.

Sharing a selfie of the couple looking less than impressed, the TV personality kept followers up-to-date and revealed his new wife had managed to stay calm despite the fiasco.

He wrote: ‘Now we’re on a bus to a different terminal back in the UK…. This is mad. Proud @sohpiehabboo hasn’t lost it yet’.

He later added that he thought they were ‘being pranked’ as they also had no idea where in the world their luggage had found itself.

Jamie continued: ‘We’re now put on different flights to Columbia and our luggage is still in Amsterdam… I think we’re being pranked….’

Once landing in Columbia in the very early hours of the morning, the Made In Chelsea star shared a video as the couples ‘journey continued’.

He said laughing: ‘A little update for anyone who cares. We have arrived in Bogotá in Columbia it’s 3:15am.

‘We now have to change flights and go to Panama and then change again to get to the other place.

‘We don’t even know if our luggage is with us because we think it’s still in Amsterdam. The journey continues, isn’t that right honey,’ as Sophie trailed behind him in the airport.

It comes after Jamie originally revealed on Monday the nightmare the happy couple were experiencing while jetting off to a lavish location for their honeymoon.

He wrote: ‘This is WILD… We’re on our honeymoon to South America, connecting flight to Amsterdam.

‘KLM are delayed but we still have time to make our flight. Without warning, they take us off our connecting flight.

‘So now we have to fly back to London, then fly to Colombia, then fly to Panama, and then fly to our honeymoon destination. This is a total f*** up. Thanks @klm.’

He then added: ‘This actually means @sophiehabboo and I will visit four countries in 24 hours.’

Jamie and Sophie tied the knot in an incredible ceremony in Spain earlier this month.

However it wasn’t all plain sailing in the lead up to the big day, as Sophie admitted during a row that Jamie revealed his plans to divorce her.

Speaking on the new episode of their Nearlyweds podcast, Sophie revealed details a of a row where Jamie said: ‘Urgh, I’ve got to stay married to you for at least a year.’

Jamie explained that they would have to remain married for at least 12 months, otherwise people would comment that it was a short marriage.

On the Instagram page for the podcast, the couple shared a teaser from the episode, which was released after their second wedding ceremony in Sotogrande.

The video was captioned: ‘Jamie’s plan to divorce Sophie after a year?! 1 day until THE WEDDING… & we’re just so excited so here’s a little sneak peak at what’s to come in next week’s BIG WED POD.’

At the start of the clip, Jamie told Sophie: ‘It’s so funny how our minds work because you’re now so content that you’re married to me.’

Sophie then replied: ‘And you’re a little nervous Nancy.’

Admitting she was right, Jamie said: ‘Now I’m the stressed one’.

Joking that it was due to their recent legal marriage ceremony, which was held at Chelsea Registry Office, Sophie said: ‘Because you’re so upset you’ve married me. You’re like f**k I’m locked in.’

She revealed that Jamie previously revealed his plans to stay married to her for at least a year if things between them go south, saying: ‘Once he said during an argument, “urgh I’ve got to stay married to you for at least a year. I was like, f**k you!’

Clarifying his viewpoint, Jamie admitted: ‘Yeah that’s true. If it was before a year, everyone would be like well that was short. But a year, then you’re like that’s alright.’

The loved-up newlyweds have now shared their professional wedding video to Instagram, which includes all of the MIC original cast.

Sophie looked elegant as she donned an embroidered white wedding dress with a huge lace veil.

Jamie could be seen beaming as he wore a black suit with a matching bow tie and a white shirt, as he walked arm-in-arm with Sophie’s friend Georgie Le Roux on arrival.

Sophie and Jamie gave a glimpse of the lavish venue Sotogrande, the largest privately owned residential development in Andalusia.

The couple shared a passionate kiss in front of the sunset after saying I do, as well as at the end of the aisle in front of their friends and family.

The pair were joined by a number of their famous friends, including fellow former Made In Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh who looked resplendent in lemon yellow, while Love Island’s Zara McDermott wore a floor-length blue dress with a thigh-high split and ruffled detail.

Spencer Matthews was reunited with Jamie in Spain this week after Jamie failed to invite him to his UK wedding to Sophie in London last month.

Ollie was seen arriving with his series co-star Olivia Bentley who looked glamorous in an off-the-shoulder red dress with keyhole detail at the front.

Alongside the sweet clip, Jamie wrote: ‘It happened….. “To find true Love you must first find a true Friend”’
