Jana Kramer alludes to ex Mike Caussin’s alleged cheating as she shares a powerful poem

Jana Kramer is reminding herself of her strength as her divorce from husband Mike Caussin continues to get more tense.

The country singer/actress, 37, shared a poignant quote about resilience to Instagram Story on Tuesday, signaling that she’s ready to face any obstacles her ex gives her her.

‘You will break her, but she will grow back stronger,’ she posted, sharing a piece of a poem called Before You Cheat On Her Know This. ‘You will dim her light, but she will shine more brightly in the dark.’

Jana’s message comes after news she and Caussin, 34, have both obtained temporary restraining orders against each other to prevent them from making ‘disparaging remarks’ about the other in front of their two children.    

But the One Tree Hill actress wasn’t letting his actions bring her down, as her post – which was an excerpt of work by writer Kirsten J Robinson – continued: ‘You will lower her expectations, but she will raise her standards. 

‘You will cause her to hate, but she will find relief, release and beauty in the breakdown.’

‘You will make her question her sanity, but she will learn to trust her own intuition better than before,’ she went on, alluding to claims Mike was repeatedly unfaithful.

‘You will crush her ideas of love, but she will never settle again.’

‘You will burn her world to the ground, but she will pour her heart into becoming the best person she can be—and this time, it won’t be for you; it will be for her. ❤️’

It seems both Jana and the former NFL tight end are on the same page about their split, with an insider telling Us Weekly: ‘Jana and Mike both agree [that] at this point it’s not going to work.’

‘And they want be civil, but they’ll still need time to process the divorce themselves before they’re able to explain things to the kids.’

Apparently both are ‘upset’ about how the split went down, but they are ‘figuring things out and trying to be adult’ for daughter Jolie, five, and son Jace, two.

Still, both are taking extra steps to make sure their kids don’t get stuck in the middle of mom and dad’s divorce battle. 

Just a week after Kramer announced the end of her nearly six-year marriage over Instagram, it’s emerged she and Caussin were issued by a mutual restraining order by a Tennessee court on April 23.

According to the Williamson County clerk, an order is automatically given with all divorce declarations filed in the area.

The temporary document means they are prohibited from harassing, threatening, assaulting or abusing the other spouse as well as banning the making of ‘disparaging remarks’ about the other to their children or their employers, it was shared in court documents obtained by E! News.

The order means neither Jana nor Mike can take their children out of Tennessee or more than 50 miles from home without the approval of the court. 

Neither party is allowed to borrow, transfer or conceal any shared property without permission or hide or destroy evidence on computer hard drives or other devices.

However, the order insisted they can ‘maintain the marital standard of living’, though they need to keep notes of any expenses.

News of the order comes a few days after it was revealed the singer had sought a divorce from the athlete due to ‘inappropriate marital conduct, irreconcilable differences and adultery.’

The former couple have a post-nuptial agreement and Jana is seeking custody of the children, as well as having Mike pay alimony and her legal costs. 

In 2016, the 34-year-old ex-footballer entered a treatment center for two months for sex addiction after repeatedly cheating on his wife.

Mike previously said in 2019: ‘Jana kind of gave me an ultimatum when everything came out, and she discovered everything, and she looked at me and said, “You need to go somewhere. Basically, you need to figure out what’s going on and what this is, or I’m gone, period.”‘

Emotional: The country singer announced her divorce via an emotional text post shared to Instagram last week, which began with the poignant phrase: ‘It’s time’

Their official date of separation is listed as April 20, one day before she revealed the split with a somber Instagram post amid more infidelity accusations against the former professional football player.

‘As I try to make sense of a reality I never wanted to believe could be possible again, those words have now become a reality,’ she told her social media followers. ‘I’ve fought y’all. I’ve loved hard. I’ve forgiven. I’ve put the work in. I’ve given everything I have, and now I have nothing else to give. It’s time.’ 

Jana was left ‘distraught’ over their split, but has no plans to reconcile as she’s through with his cheating ways.

‘This time she’s said it’s over for good. She wouldn’t have filed for divorce if she wasn’t serious about it,’ an insider recently told Us Weekly.

The source added: ‘Kramer thought her third marriage ‘would be her last’ but after putting in a ‘lot of effort to make it work, she realized that ‘she was doing all she could [but] his past ways have come back to bite again.

‘Their kids are still pretty young and wouldn’t fully understand if they told them they’re separating. They want to make sure their kids are raised as normal as possible despite their parents no longer living together,’ they added. 

Jana and Mike began dating in August 2014 but split up weeks later when she announced on social media that he cheated on her.

They later reconciled, and got married in May 2015 in a rustic outdoor ceremony in Caussin’s home state of Virginia.

After admitting he cheated again, the couple separated in August 2016 when their daughter Jolie Rae was just seven-months-old. 

Although the reasons behind the couple’s second split were not explicitly revealed at the time, Jana later confirmed rumors of infidelity in a statement to People.

‘Mike was the biggest of the betrayals because it was the first time in a relationship where I truly loved the version of me,’ she told the outlet at the time.
