Jane Birkin and daughter Charlotte Gainsbourg reunite for premiere docu-film about her mother 

Jane Birkin and her daughter Charlotte Gainsbourg wore matching black tuxedos as they attended the premiere of the actress’ docu-film about her mother.

74-year-old singer Jane looked glamorous as she wore a suede tuxedo with a pussy-bowed shirt underneath at the Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday night. 

Jane continued to sport her signature fringe, and her hair had that effortlessly stylish French look in natural waves.

49-year-old singer-turned-actress Charlotte wore a sexy three-piece black suit, with no blouse. 

Her raven tresses flowed around her shoulders and she sported a smouldering smokey eye.

The mother-daughter duo were attending the opening of the new docu-film about Jane called, Jane par Charlotte, which translates as Jane by Charlotte from French. 

 Like mother like daughter: Charlotte wore a sexy three-piece suit with a smouldering black smokey eye 

The title is a nod to the Agnes Varda film called Jane B. par Agnes V.  

The new film is set to be a look into the mother-daughter relationship between the pair. 

‘You were intimidating as a child’ Jane says in the trailer to her daughter. ‘I felt privileged to be in your presence.’

Charlotte, who is the daughter of Jane and her late ex-husband Serge Gainsbourg takes a look at the family history in the film, and explores her mother’s eventful life.

The documentary will also discuss the theme of ageing, with Jane saying in the trailer, ‘at one point, you no longer recognise yourself. […] I think I’m reaching the point of not caring.’

Premiere: The new film is set to be a look into the mother-daughter relationship between the pair.

She joked, ‘it’s better just to take off your glasses.’  

Jane, an icon in her own right, was a 60s it-girl in Britain and France and starred in a number of films including La Piscine and Blow Up. 

She also had a famous marriage with the singer Serge Gainsbourg, made hits with Je T’aime Moi Non Plus. 

Her daughter followed in her musical parents footsteps as she pursued her singing career and made the popular song Deadly Valentine. 

The flick is set to be realeased on October 27th 2021.
