‘The best thing I have done is the 8/16 diet,’ shared the Dr Quinn Medicine Woman with DailyMail.com when she launched her Open Hearts jewelry line on JTV last year.

‘My partner David Green lost 30lbs on the diet and so I thought I would try it and it has been working very well.’

The 8/16 diet requires her to eat within an eight hour window then spend the next 16 hours fasting.

The movie icon said her biggest meal is lunch followed by snacks at 5pm or 6pm.

‘We enjoy lean meets like chicken and fish and we pick fresh vegetables from our garden. I love roasted cauliflower with Cumin and broccolini with Rosemary from our garden. And I also like sweet potatoes with roasted garlic.’

And one of her tricks is using truffle oil, she said: ‘It is wonderful to cook with, just a little adds so much flavor and makes a meal seem gourmet.

‘When Covid started I went online to buy truffle oil and I must have hit a wrong button because about three or bottles came in the mail. But now I have tons of it and the kids like when I use it, they call it the Covid Special.’

As far as her 8/16 diet, Jane says she is smart about how to fend off cravings.

‘I have my big meal at lunch but then at like 5 or 6 pm I get a little hungry again so I have a few snacks like pistachios, berries and guacamole. I am a muncher when I watch TV, I need something,’ added the mother-of-four.

And when her sweet tooth rises up, she reaches for ‘a small piece of dark chocolate’.

And if she is asked to dinner by friends, she tries to make the date as early as possible.

‘Early dinners work best because I don’t want to go to bed full,’ shared Seymour.

As far as working out, she says she is not an extreme athlete type but would rather take her time and listen to her body.

‘I will stretch and do ballet moves whenever I can,’ said the Komisky Method star.

‘I started doing ballet at a young age and it has stuck with me.

‘So I stretch a lot and there is a rail in my house that I will use as a ballet bar and I do a few exercises every day,’ added the star.
