A 44-year-old Japanese man taped up his wife and kicked her head after learning she had trolled his YouTube videos for months with slurs like ‘baldy’ and ‘idiot.’

In March, the Oita City man discovered his 36-year-old wife had been behind the abuse and also recruited her friends to leave comments as well.

He bound her arms and legs in tape and kicked her face, causing injuries which took a month to heal, the Oita District Court heard.

The 44-year-old, from Oita City, had been striving for months to make an income from his Youtube videos when he learned his wife had been trolling his videos with comments like ‘baldy’ and ‘idiot’

The husband had ambitions to become a paid YouTuber and documented Oita’s restaurants and sightseeing areas to try and gain views.

During the trial which opened on May 21 he admitted to the attack on his spouse.

The ruling is due on June 6, Japan Today reported.

The husband is facing up to three years in prison.

Earning a living on YouTube is a tough business. Video creators need 1,000 subscribers before they can put adverts on their videos.

Once that milestone has been reached they are then paid less than pennies for the views they get.

They take 55 percent of their advertising revenue, meaning every 1,000 views will earn the YouTuber just over £3.
