Other items contained within the carved box are perfectly cooked pieces of prime Japanese beef filet and tofu skin topped with caviar and gold flakes.

Dessert options have also been included as part of the meal.

Diners can enjoy a sunflower cake or mochi (Japanese rice cake made from glutinous rice) wrapped in tea leaves.

Those enjoying the meal will be pleased to know the box itself has also been handcrafted.

Nikko-bori (Nikko-woodcarving) is a style of craftsmanship that can trace its origins back to the 17th century and is particular to the region of Nikko.

The technique uses specialty wood such as chestnut or magnolia and also features a hand-lacquering finishing process. Gold dust is added for an extra layer of decoration.

As well as enjoying an array of delights from a larger bento box, two smaller boxes are also served alongside the main meal.

Diners can expect to  enjoy the meal using hand-carved chopsticks which have also been fashioned in the Nikko-bori style.
