Prince Hisahito of Japan, 12, practised his archery skills yesterday while his family met with Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and his wife Jetsun Pema.
The young prince, who is second in line to the Japanese throne, beamed as he held up a bow and arrow in Thimphu, Bhutan, while his enjoying his school holidays.
He was joined by his parents, Crown Prince Akishino and Crown Princess Kiko as the royals watched as a classical Bhutanese dance was performed.

A live band played as the family entered a Buddhist monastery, which saw the women don traditional kimono’s while the young prince wore a Japanese haori coat.

Prince Hisahito and his mother, the crown princess arrived in the country separately from the crown prince on Saturday.
This is Hisahto’s first overseas trip. The two countries have close diplomatic tires, and Akishino and Kiko travelled to the country together in 1997.
The King of Bhutan also came to Japan as a guest of the state in 2011.
