Jarrod Croker suffers horror injury on Canberra return as club legend is put on the green whistle for shoulder knock in huge blow to Ricky Stewart after Raiders FINALLY got back to winning ways against turgid Bulldogs

Canberra finally got back to winning ways on Friday night, but Ricky Stuart’s relief was short-lived after club legend picked up what appeared to be another serious injury.

Croker, 31, made his return to senior footy against the Bulldogs, having undergone career-saving stem cell knee surgery in the off-season. He showed no sign of ring rust either, putting in a dazzling display to help his side to a comfortable 14-4 win.

But nightmare struck before full time as the veteran centre went down with what appeared to be a dislocated shoulder. The crowd at GIO Stadium collectively took a nervous breath when he was put on methoxyflurane – commonly known as the green whistle.

Croker was making his 292nd NRL appearance on Friday night and is desperate to reach 300, but his latest setback could serve a devastating blow to those ambitions.

More to follow.
