A man who battered and humiliated his girlfriend in a jealous rage during a birthday treat getaway because she received texts from another man has been jailed.
Tiarna Greenaway’s birthday trip to a luxury countryside hotel turned to horror when her jealous boyfriend saw a text message and launched an attack.
Miss Greenaway, 20, was naked when she was confronted over the text by raging Otis Jeffries, 22, at the lakeside lodge in Cefn Mably, near Cardiff.
A court heard he whipped Tiarna with a towel, punched her before threatening her with a knife in a horrifying hour-long ordeal.
Miss Greenaway pleaded: ‘Stop, you’re going to kill me,’ but brutal Jefferies replied: ‘I don’t care’.
Prosecutor Richard Ace said Jeffries treated Miss Greenaway to a £325 weekend break to celebrate her 20th birthday.
He said: ‘Ms Greenaway received a text message from another man and she had earlier asked her partner to leave following a row.
‘He grabbed her and threw her to the floor, he pulled her by her ears and hair and punched her in the face.’
‘He also whipped his girlfriend, who was naked, with a towel and destroyed her £700 iPhone.
‘When she pleaded with her boyfriend: ‘Stop! You are going to kill me,’ Jefferies replied ‘I don’t care!’

Cardiff Crown Court heard that Jefferies – described as a man with a history of violence – then grabbed a sharp knife and moved it towards her face and chest but did not use the blade.
Ms Greenaway managed to flee and was helped by teachers staying at the lodges before the police were called and Jefferies arrested.

The court was told the two are no longer in a relationship.
Jefferies’ lawyer Ben Walters said: ‘The defendant is an immature young man who has problems dealing with his emotions. He is embarrassed and ashamed of his behaviour.’
Judge Caroline Rees, QC, told Jefferies: ‘After your partner received a text message from another man, you flew into a jealous rage and subjected the victim to a sustained attack that lasted an hour. This must have been terrifying.’
‘An aggravating feature is that degraded your victim further by attacking her when was naked.’
Jefferies, who had previously been jailed for three and a half years for robbery, admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Jefferies, from Cwmbran, Gwent, was jailed for nine months.
