Jedidiah Duggar welcomes his second baby amid bitter family scandal

Jed Duggar and his wife Katey Nakatsu have welcomed their second baby just one day after he slammed his sister Jill for writing a tell-all book about the family’s scandal-plagued downfall.

Counting On’s Jed, 24, and his wife, Katey, 24, announced the news of their baby girl, Nora Kate Duggar, on Instagram today.

The couple celebrated the arrival of their first daughter just one day after Jed shaded his sister Jill’s new book, in which she vowed to detail the ‘the secrets, manipulation, and intimidation’ that she experienced behind the scenes of the 19 Kids and Counting show.

Although Jed and Kate seemed to be focused on snuggling up with their newborn, just yesterday, Jed was quick to share his disapproval of the book – causing a clash between family members.

In a post shared to his Instagram, Jed shared a snap of Nora wrapped up in a blanket.

He also posted a picture of Kate and Nora, and a family photo with him, Kate, Nora, and their 13-month-old son Truett.

In the adorable family picture, Truett sported a black T-shirt that read ‘bro.’

He captioned the photo: ‘She’s here! And we’re so in love. Welcome to the world, sweet girl. Nora Kate Duggar.’

And while a flood of sweet messages were left by fans, none of Jed’s siblings shared their congrats on his photo.

It comes just one day after Jed trashed Jill, 32, for writing a book about the turmoil the family has encountered.

Earlier this week, Jill took to social media earlier this week to reveal that she would be releasing an explosive memoir, titled Counting the Cost, to air even more of the family’s dirty secrets, with husband Derick as the co-author.

She acknowledged that while viewers of their show have been witness to the very public scandals that the family has become embroiled in over the past few years, no one could imagine the depths it went to for over 15 years.

‘The challenges we have faced, including lack of respect for boundaries, greed, manipulation, and betrayal, are not that much different than what many people in our audience have faced,’ she continued.

‘However, 15+ years of reality television, undergirded by secrecy and lies, is tantamount to pouring gasoline on the fire of our struggle,’ she wrote.

The mom-of-three ended her post by thanking God, time, and therapy for helping her ‘heal.’

‘Thanks to time, tears, truth, and therapy, God has begun to heal our wounds into scars. Though we would have never chosen this path, and it has cost us dearly, we want to use our voice to show others that there is hope beyond the pain,’ she concluded.

The post received thousands of comments.

But eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot that Jill’s brother Jed had been liking negative comments the post received.

‘Here’s the thing Jill, NO family is perfect. Not one. And yes, while most do not have reality TV shows, you would also not have the opportunity to profit from your story.’

Fans rushed to her defense and called Jed out, with one claiming that the father-of-one should be ‘ashamed of liking these types of comments.’

They went on to say that Jim Bob should have done more to protect his daughters from convicted felon Josh.

‘You’re not proving to be a real Christian, but a Pharisee. A real Christian would stand up for injustice,’ they wrote.

‘But I guess your Pharisee father sharing his portion of the family fortune with you and your brothers is more important. It’s really shameful how your siblings turned on Jill instead of your father.’

And Jed hit back with a response that read: ‘Excuse you, but you don’t know our family at all. Please don’t make assumptions about things that 100% [are] none of your business. The true shame is on you.’

She promised to reveal the ‘unedited truth about the Duggars’, breaking down the ‘challenges, lack of respect, manipulation, and greed’ they encountered

Jill has been very vocal about the family’s secrets, with her revealing her father stopped his children from being paid for their participation in the family’s lucrative TLC reality show and uncovered the extreme length’s her dad took to try to cover up Josh Duggar’s molestation of his own sisters in an Amazon Prime documentary that aired today.

More of the family's disturbing secrets are set to be exposed in Amazon Prime's Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets, which will premiere on June 2

She spoke out about her battle to get distributions in the upcoming explosive Amazon Prime docuseries about the family, entitled Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets – while claiming that her dad tricked her into signing a contract that forced her to continue filming against her will, and that she was given no choice but to video tape the birth of her son despite her telling the production crew that she wasn’t comfortable with it.

Jill explained that she was asked to sign a contract on the day before her marriage to Derick, whom she wed in 2014, but said she was never actually shown the full thing, only the ‘signature page.’

‘It was just at the end of the kitchen table. [My dad was like,] “Hey, I just need you guys to sign these,”‘ she recalled. ‘I didn’t know what it was for.’

She said she later found out that it was a ‘commitment of her life to the show’ for the next ‘five years.’

She also broke down in tears while revealing the extreme measures Jim Bob took to cover up Josh’s crimes.

A report in 2015 claimed that Josh, now 35, admitted to molesting his siblings years prior, and that his parents, Jim Bob, now 57, and Michelle Duggar, now 56, knew and failed to report it

When a bombshell report hit the web in 2015 that claimed Josh, now 35, had admitted to molesting four of his siblings years prior, and that his own parents, Jim Bob, now 57, and Michelle Duggar, now 56, knew about it and failed to report the abuse – it completely shattered the wholesome on-screen image that the family had worked so hard to build over the course of their multiple TLC reality shows.

According to Jill, who spoke out in the upcoming explosive Amazon Prime docuseries about the family, entitled Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets, when news of Josh’s alleged abuse was made public in 2015, her dad’s main focus was protecting the family’s squeaky-clean reputation – rather than the victims.

She recalled an ‘urgency’ in ‘trying to figure out’ how the show could continue on in the wake of the scandal.

But Jill isn’t the only member of the large brood to do so with Jinger Duggar previously speaking out in her own book, Becoming Free Indeed.

In an interview with People, she slammed her ultra-religious parents’ ‘harmful’ beliefs – while comparing her famous family to a ‘cult’.
