Jeffrey Epstein ‘said laws banning sex with teenage girls were a “cultural aberration” because it was once “perfectly acceptable”‘

  • Epstein reportedly made remarks during a 2018 interview with New York Times
  • Comments were revealed on Monday – two days after Epstein hanged himself
  • Epstein was in jail awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking young girls
  • He compared sex with underage girls to homosexuality

Jeffrey Epstein told a New York Times reporter last year that criminalizing sex with underage girls was a ‘cultural aberration’ and that it was once considered ‘perfectly acceptable.’

The convicted pedophile and sex offender compared sex with teenage girls to homosexuality in that it’s a practice that is banned in other parts of the world, according to the Times.

The revelation was made in an article by journalist James Stewart, who writes that he met Epstein at his Manhattan townhouse in August of last year.

Stewart writes that the conservation with Epstein was ‘on background’ – meaning that none of the information or quotes could be attributed as having originated with Epstein.

Epstein, who was arrested last month and charged with sex trafficking, was found unresponsive in his Manhattan jail cell on Saturday. He died of an apparent suicide.

Stewart writes that Epstein’s death frees him from his agreement with Epstein to keep his quotes on background.

The Times reporter writes that he sought an interview with Epstein, who at the time was rumored to be advising Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

Musk was making headlines last year because he was being investigated by the federal government for tweeting information about lining up funding for his publicly traded company.

Stewart writes in the Times on Monday that he wanted Epstein to confirm rumors that Musk asked him to put together a list of candidates who could serve as the new chairman of Tesla, a position that Musk may have to relinquish.

It was reported that Musk emailed Epstein asking for his help in the search for a new CEO, but the tech billionaire denies this.

‘It is incorrect to say that Epstein ever advised Elon on anything,’ a spokesperson for Musk told the Times.

During his interview with Stewart, Epstein largely avoided the question of whether he was advising Musk.

Stewart writes that he noticed a number of odd things at Epstein’s home.

When Stewart arrived at the home on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, he was greeted at the door by ‘a young woman, her blond hair pulled back in a chignon…with what sounded like an Eastern European accent.’

Stewart noted that this was after Epstein’s had registered as a sex offender and was considered a pariah for his legal troubles.

‘I can’t say how old she was, but my guess would be late teens or perhaps 20,’ Stewart writes.

‘Given Mr. Epstein’s past, this struck me as far too close to the line.

‘Why would Mr. Epstein want a reporter’s first impression to be that of a young woman opening his door?’

Stewart also observed that Epstein showed off pictures of himself with former President Bill Clinton and filmmaker Woody Allen.

‘Displaying photos of celebrities who had been caught up in sex scandals of their own also struck me as odd,’ Stewart writes.

During the interview, Epstein also bragged about having ‘dirt’ on several public figures, including tech executives.

Epstein told Stewart that he personally witnessed ‘prominent tech figures taking drugs and arranging for sex.’
