Jenna Bush Hager ‘twins’ in yellow with sister Barbara

Jenna Bush Hager and her twin sister, Barbara Bush, reunited with their high school friends while celebrating a close pal’s wedding in Texas over the weekend.

The Today host, 41, took to Instagram to share snapshots of herself posing with Barbara at sunset during the outdoor reception. The Bush twins, who were each other’s dates, dazzled in complementary yellow dresses for the occasion.

‘Hey, soul sister! I love you like YELLOW,’ she captioned the images, which show them standing on top of the stone steps overlooking the venue’s grounds.

Jenna was dressed in a sunny yellow cap-sleeve dress with a single flower that ran down the front. Her highlighted blonde hair was styled in loose waves, and she was all smiles as she stood with her arm around her sister.

Barbara opted for an off-the-shoulder frock that was cinched at the waist with a matching belt. Like her twin, she wore her dark brown hair down loose around her shoulders.

The sisters are facing the camera in the first photo, but they are adoringly looking at each other in the second.

Jenna also shared moments from the weekend on her Instagram Stories, including a short video of a pizza being spun on a turntable while music played in the background.

She never specified where she was, but the morning after the wedding, she posted a picture of a scenic lake, writing, ‘I love Texas lakes.’

‘And food,’ she captioned a snapshot of herself chowing down on chips and queso, her favorite thing to eat in her home state.

Jenna opened up about the special weekend with her friends on Monday’s show at the request of her Today with Hoda & Jenna co-host Hoda Kotb, who was back to work after two weeks off.

Earlier in the day, Hoda, 58, had explained her unexpected absence, tearfully revealing her three-year-old daughter, Hope, had been in the intensive care unit battling a health issue.

‘My youngest, Hope, was in the ICU for and then in the hospital for a little over a week,’ she told her co-anchor Savannah Guthrie. ‘I’m so grateful she’s home, she is back home. I was waiting for that day to come, and we are watching her closely.’

Hoda, who had not been on air since February 17, was ready to lift the mood by the time the show’s fourth hour rolled around.

‘Could we talk about you?’ she asked Jenna. ‘Just take me away. I want to hear about a weekend. I want to hear about a fun weekend.’

Jenna dished about how she and her sister, Barbara, went to a childhood best friend’s wedding in Texas, which turned into a mini-high school reunion.

‘I met her in sixth grade. She’s the wild friend,’ she said of the bride.

‘Wait, pause. She’s the wild friend?’ Hoda asked, insinuating that the title surely belonged to her co-host.

‘She sure is,’ Jenna confirmed.

The former first daughter explained that she and Barbara have loved their pal since they were tweens and were so happy to watch her get married.

‘We got to go watch her get married this weekend to her match,’ she said. ‘You know, she was one of those friends — and I said this to her. She’s brilliant. She’s hilarious. You were worried that she was so brilliant, so funny that she would never meet her match. And she met him. And we love him.’

Jenna noted that she got to be her sister’s date for the evening because her husband, Henry Hager, had strep throat.

‘I really was thinking one of the greatest joys is watching people fall in love, and people that you’ve known forever,’ she said. ‘So I got to be my sister’s date.’

It’s unclear if Barbara’s husband, Craig Coyne, was in attendance, but he may have stayed home to watch their one-year-old daughter, Cora Georgia.

‘It was fun. We danced. We also got to see our high school friends,’ Jenna explained. ‘We never had a high school reunion because [our 20th] was [in] 2020.

The mother of three recalled how her friend called them ‘teenage middle-agers,’ which was the perfect description.

‘Because you get back together with people you’ve known forever, and you’re immediately teenagers… I still look at them like teenagers, and we are old,’ she admitted.

Hoda laughed at the story and Jenna thanked her for asking about the wedding, saying, ‘It was really, really fun.’
